OCC Lip Tars: Anime & Cha Cha Review

Hey Ladies

A couple of weeks ago I got myself obsessed with Lip Tars by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, I lusted for them, dreamt about them (ok that's a lie) I NEEDED them!

My particular fascination was directed at two shades Anime a neon pink & Cha Cha a pastel peach.

So like a good girl I resisted as they're such a pain in the arse to get hold of in the UK until I saw that a. My paypal account was working again & b. Pro Makeup Store took paypal!! Those were my two conditions! So placed my order thinking 'they're coming from the Netherlands it'll take a week or so' and they turned up after 4 days! Posted on the Monday received on the Friday! Tip Top service I think you'll agree!

Anyway on to the lips!

Cha Cha
It is a very intense pastel peach & very light & opaque, It kind of looks silly on me when applied like this, i.e. with a lip brush as its just too much like concealer lips. However if you commit a cardinal sin in Lip Tar terms & dab this on your lips with your ring finger (carefully) then the result is very flattering & an everyday shade to pop on!

All I can say for this is WOW! It is intense & no camera I think can pick up the neoness of it! When I applied it in front of my boyfriend he said 'it looks like something Lady Gaga would wear' (is that a compliment?) & also I said I'd wear this to Leeds next week, his reply 'where are you going? a porn shoot' I think that's a compliment personally! This is the most amazing lip colour ever! Pain in the arse to apply but worth the hassle! No pink I've got or come across compares to this! I love a bright pink lip on a night out this will be worn for the next one for sure! Stains your lips by the way but I can live with that!

Overall I love the two Lip Tars I have, I also got sent two samples from the lovely Sarah, the one I love when applied with a finger is Hush, looks a milky pink in the pot but kind of looks peachy on top of my lip colour!
I definitely don't think Lip Tars are for everyone they're messy & a pain to apply but if you love the colour it is worth it, but I can definitely see why they're used by makeup artists for mixing very space saving in kits!
I don't think they're a necessity for everyone but if you spot a special colour I say go for it, priced at about £10 I think they're very reasonable as they'll last you forever!!

Thanks for reading & let me know what you think!! Any questions let me know & Will you be purchasing any?

NOTD: Orly Lola

Hey Ladies,

Another NOTD for you, my apologies if you're bored of them, I just paint my nails about 3 times a week so they're the obvious posts to me & obviously very lazy!

Orly Lola
It's plain & simply a bright pink in a cream formulation, lovely! Applies very easily in 2 coats & lasts a good 4 days on my nails (If I see a chip I remove immediately & redo with another nail polish)

OPI Mad As A Hatter
I decided to spice it up with a bit of Mad As A Hatter as well & sport the Lorraine nail! (glitter gets everywhere & such a pain to get off!)

Anyhoo I hope you're all looking forward to a lovely weekend! I personally was dying this week of sleepiness (If that's a recognised condition by the UK medical board), been eating lots & lots of cake working in the admin office at work instead of my normal office (every one's on holiday so I was helping out), have New York cheesecake in my fridge to scoff & a 3 day weekend to look forward too, happy days!! I must edit my cupcake tutorial & get it on YouTube this weekend as well, maybe even do another video who knows kids!!

Thanks for reading & i'll try my bestest not to have a NOTD for my next post!! :D

NOTD: Sephora By OPI Metro Chic

Hey Ladies,

This nail polish has had some love in the past by several YouTubers & I recently got myself a brand new bottle (I lost my other one, I lose everything) I kind of forgot how much I adore it because I'm only just applying it now & I know I've got a backlog of new polish to apply so It's expected but if I get a new colour & it pleases me I apply immediately disregarding my other 'new' ones!

Anyway enough nail polish politics, this is the infamous Metro Chic
Sephora By Opi Metro Chic
Ah I'm feeling so much love in the room for this one, & once again hate Sephora for not allowing me to buy this without a giant pain in mine & someone Else's arse! Anyway it's a gorgeous mix of brown gray & purple & is just plain sexyness! Mine applies very easily 2 coats & it has lasted me a good 5 days with a minor chippage (from being drunk last night) So perfectamundo!!

... ps do you like my pj's!

Anyway hope you've all had lovely weekends, mine didn't go to plan but I had a great night with my friend last night! I did a tutorial on my YouTube channel as well so check that out! & I made lots & lots of cupcakes & I ate a few as well, tutorial coming soon!

Thanks for reading & I loves you all!!

If You Don't Like Frizzy Hair ... Avoid This Shampoo!!

Hey Ladies,

Rarely do I want to write a review when it's a negative one, mostly I tend to just not bother, I prefer to praise than slag a product off. However occasionally I'm so overwhelmed by the shitness of a product I feel the need to warn people away from it!

Today's Product is ....

Herbal Essences Ignite My Colour Shampoo

I have the easiest hair in the world & I have never had a problem with frizzyness, I've never come across a product that has made my hair frizzy ... until now. I used this at my boyfriends mum's house because I forgot to bring my own shampoo & when i took down my hair in the morning I was confronted with frizzy hair, It looked bloody awful! I can't tell you if it 'ignites' colour but I can say it'll ignite any frizz you may have! Avoid at all costs I'd say! I was a bit gutted as I used to use Herbal Essences when I was about 14 so the smell was a trip down memory lane! (I can't believe that was like 10 years ago!)

The positivity will return on my next review! Let me know if you've tried it & your experience! Hope you're having & lovely week & thanks for reading! IT'S FRIDAY TOMORROW! high 5*

NOTD: Models Own Jade Stone

Hey Ladies,

Continuing on with my Models Own nail polish purchases the one I grabbed for first was this one!

Models Own Jade Stone
I love this shade, Jade is probably my favourite colour in the entire world, this is more a minty green than a true jade like the Sephora by OPI Call My Bluff polish I recently showed you. It basically is identical to Barry M's Mint Green but a whole lot easier to apply (I personally hate the formulation of Mint Green by Barry M) I will probably do a comparison at some point!

Like the Nude Beige shade this is a thick polish & opaque in one coat, it did chip quite badly but I find pastel shades like this are very difficult to prevent chipping it is just something I expect with a pastel shade so it doesn't bother me anymore, some are better than others this isn't one of them! I do love this polish purely because its a shade that I love, I put up with the chipping!!

Thanks for reading & hope you're having a fantastic week!!! Mine has been tiring but looking forward to my weekend with my boyfriend & his son :) Pressure me into a YouTube video I need to get my arse into gear & film one! Naughty Nicola!!

NOTD: Models Own Nude Beige

Hey Ladies,

I recently bought a shed load of Models Own polish as I was curious to see what they were like. So I thought I'd do a NOTD with the one i've been sporting the last few days!

Models Own Nude Beige
This is completely out of my comfort zone in terms of nail polish colour! You may have guessed from my 1 million NOTD posts I like bright & bold polish & thankfully my work has no problem with it & I constantly get compliments on my nail polish shades!

This to me is so boring & dull & i've been wearing it 4 days & not one comment has been made! ugh! It's a pretty, non offensive colour but I want offensive! In terms of formulation from what i've seen so far of Models own they're very thick nail polishes which aren't my favourite but opaque in 1 coat so very quick to apply. I might do a comparison of brands in terms of consistency etc. Anyway I don't dislike this colour but its too boring for me, perhaps one I will wear to a funeral! Does make my fingers look extra long though!

Thanks for reading & I hope you've had a lovely weekend, I've been a busy bee & very productive redesigning my blog let me know what you think! Oh & what are your favourite Models Own polishes?

My Wishlist

Hey Ladies

I've been doing some serious lusting this weekend & mainly over these products, I want them & quite frankly I need them!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic Lip Tars - £9 - £12 each
I think these colours speak for themselves, first of all Anime is the most amazing bright pink which I love to wear on nights out, I'm much more boring during the week & that's where the second colour Cha Cha comes into play, its a bright pastel peach which are my favourite words when it comes to lip colour! Also they could be mixed to wear my own custom colours! The tubes will last forever as you only need a tiny amount so very cost effective as well.

Laura Mercier Satinee Creme Eyeshadow in Cocoa Velour - £18
This is supposed to be long wearing, crease proof & water resistant very much like a Mac Paint, you can use them as a base or just eye shadows, this is the most gorgeous smoky brown & I would like it very much! ... & maybe a few of the other shades.

Clinique Brush On Cream Liner in Black Honey - £13
These are lovely eyeliners, I've tried the black before, this shade is actually brown but has a stupid name just to confuse everyone, I've been after a brown liner for ages & I was allergic to the Mac one I got so need to have this! I'm a big fan of a neutral eye with brown liner not black so this is a basic human right surely?!

Makeup Forever Smoky Lash Mascara - £17
Now I'm a massive 'don't buy expensive mascara' protester, I have tried all the major high end mascaras & they're all about as good as my drug store favourite mascaras, as I have naturally long & full lashes so anything works on me. This has just had too many great reviews for me not to try it out, it could give me a bad habit of spending loads on mascara but if it is good I really don't mind.

Mac 209 Eyeliner Brush - £14
I had the 210 which I have lost, so I am craving this instead as the bristles seem firmer than the 210 so could be a bit easier to work with & I tend to apply a thicker line so as its a fuller brush It will save time.

Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base - £18
My current bases aren't cutting it with me like they used to, I very nearly bought this before I had heard any mention of it but resisted, definitely wished I hadn't. There's been so many great reviews I need to have it!

Nars Gina/Gilda Blush - £19.50
These two colours are very similar, Gina is a tangerine shade & Gilda is more a coral which is everywhere at the moment. The best thing is these are matte blushes which are my favourites I hate sparkle, maybe I need both?

So there's my current wish list! Feel free to tell me yours or buy me mine :p or tell me what not to buy on my list! Thanks for reading & hope you had a great start to the week!

July Favourites!

Hey Ladies,

I ideally would have liked to have done this as a YouTube video but i'm extremely lazy & that's the reason I haven't filmed my makeup tutorial this weekend plus I lost my Mac 210 eyeliner brush which I am gutted about, I use it everyday. I can't do any online spending (don't ask) & don't have a Mac near me so can't get a new one. Gutted!

Anyway on to my July Favourites!

Neal's Yard Orange Flower Facial Wash
This was recently in the Asos sale so I snapped it up, It smells gorgeous, very gentle & extremely effective. I very much enjoy using this product.

Mac Expensive Pink Eyeshadow
I purchased this at duty free & I am in love with it, pink is a colour I tend to avoid in all areas of life, I just think it doesn't suit me (apart from hot pink lips on a night out) On first sight this is a darkish pink, once its swatched its a pink but has a peachy gold sheen to it so looks amazing on me! Have been wearing it everyday on its own! love it!

Paul Mitchell Super Strong Liquid Treatment
I just randomly added this to my shopping cart one day to get free shipping & I am so glad I did. You just spray it in to damp hair and it is supposed to strengthen & repair the hair. It works! My hair becomes super easy to brush through & feels thicker & stronger!

Mac Face & Body Foundation
This has been getting some attention recently & I'm glad it has, I've been using this for ages, I have 2 bottles of it, a darker one I always use when I'm tanned & then my normal skin tone for when my skins behaving & I can get away with a lighter coverage. It stays put all day & looks unbelievably natural & is great if you're not a fan of tinted moisturisers.

Bare Minerals Matte Foundation
I love this as a setting powder for either a tinted moisturiser or the Face & Body if I want a little more coverage. I hate mineral makeup foundations on their own as they don't last more than 2 hours on my skin but as setting powders I love them.

StriVectin SD Eye Cream
I love this eye cream, it's really nourishing without sitting on the skin ages, so I can use it in the morning & it doesn't mess with my makeup. I can't speak about the benefits of reducing wrinkles or things like that as I'm 23 & don't have them, but I always say prevention is better than trying to fix later on.

So there are my favourites, pretty boring really but I've been wearing minimal makeup as i am tanned! If you want a full review on any of the products please let me know, also let me know your current favourites I love discovering new products!

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend, I personally haven't left the house, just relaxed!

Who The Hell Are The Saturdays? & Why Do I Want Frankies Hair?

Hey Ladies,

It would seem I have very coveted hair, everyone always tell me they want to take it off me, It's very long & in good condition (I don't blow dry it or straighten it & rarely colour it) Most of the time I thank christ it is so easy, I do nothing with it & it looks fine. Every so often I want a change & it's just one of those days!

This morning I had no idea who the Saturdays were until Sophie on twitter mentioned she wanted one of the groups hair (being an old fart who hadn't a clue who they are went & googled it so I could see) All I know is I want Frankie's hair!

I really fancy chopping it all off! Here's a style I love!!

I love this style, my fringe is long enough now to create it, the only issue is parting with my hair, its just too hard! I know i'd regret it because it would take effort to style it! So what I might do is buy a wig & have it chopped in this type of style, I wouldn't wear it everyday (I'd feel a right tool wearing it for work) I'd just wear it on nights out when I want to look a little different!

The question is could I pull it off? I really don't think I can, hence the purchase of a wig before any scissors touch my hair! I'm not precious about my hair I tell my hair dresser to cut off whatever they want but this is a drastic change. Better safe than sorry!

Let me know if any of you fancy a change & what style you're lusting after. Thanks for reading & hope you've had a good week! Mines getting better thank god, no promises but i'm going to aim to film a tutorial tomorrow for my YouTube channel, I will start with no makeup so this is a warning! :)

Love to you all!

Detoxing ... we only do it for nice skin right?

Hey Ladies,

Am I the only one who thinks the whole detox craze for most women is the craving for perfect skin & not about getting healthy? By cleansing the body your skin is supposed to look healthier & brighter, hence why many skin care brands have a dietary supplement available.

I was in Boots & grabbed this one

I thought it would be interesting to see if it would make a difference with my skin (which is a little pointless as I don't have any spots or break outs)

However I didn't read the packaging!

So you're actually supposed to go on a detox with this! ooops! because i also bought this with it!

Ah well, I guess I could try to eat some fruit & drink some water whilst I use it, but the exercise is a no no & the caffeine is certainly unachievable! I could switch to green tea but that's still got caffeine in it. I suppose it's a start.

I'll let you know if I see any results, I know dandelion root is good for skin so it should do something right? Let me know if you've used any supplements before & if they worked.

The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Shampoo & Hair Butter Review

Hey Ladies,

On Friday I got a lovely package delivered to my work from The Body Shop containing the new moisture range from the new Rainforest Hair Care range. The range was designed to be eco friendly so by the time the water you washed your hair with gets to the ocean, there is no trace of the product released into the environment. I was very interested in trying whether the effectiveness of the products was sacrificed so the formulation of the product could achieve the eco friendly label.

Rainforest Moisture Shampoo

What they say;
'Gently cleanses to help restore moisture and improve the hair’s softness without weighing it down, for a smooth and shiny finish. With pracaxi oil, manketti nut oil and Community Trade honey and sugar. No silicones, sulphates, parabens or colourants. For dry and damaged hair.'

What I say;
First of all I love the smell, to me I don't pick up on the honey (which I hate the smell of) I can just smell a sweet floral scent that is a delight to wash my hair with. Although at The Body Shop event they told me you have to lather this shampoo up in your hands first, I didn't bother, far too lazy & it worked perfectly fine! As for the moisturising factor, I think it pretty much does what it should, after using it just on its own with no conditioner my hair brushed easily when wet, I normally need a leave in conditioner for it to be easy. So I'm impressed.

Normally The Body Shop recommendations go down hill once I talk about the price, for once I think this is a reasonably priced range, the shampoo is £4 for 250ml or £6 for 400ml which is a decent price so thumbs up on this!

Would I buy it myself is always the big question & my answer? Yes I actually would. I think whilst it may not be a moisturising (I really don't think any shampoo can actually moisturise) & think of it as none drying, so any conditioners you apply to the hair will be maintained during the week (I only condition my hair once a week)

Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter

What They Say;

'Luxuriously rich and intensive deep-conditioning treatment for soft, glossy and tangle-free hair. With pracaxi oil, manketti nut oil and Community Trade honey and olive oil. No silicones, parabens or colourants. Use weekly or as required. For dry and damaged hair.'

What I Say;
This smells amazing! That was my first impression, it's nice & thick which I prefer in a hair butter (obviously all psychological) As for the formulation, it's a lovely, it really thoroughly conditions the hair & leaves it feeling soft & looking shiny & smelling fantastic in the process! A pleasure to use & washes out very nicely which is a pain in the arse with deep conditioners!

The price?
Again very reasonable, a 50ml pot is £3 (for travels or to try) or 200ml is £8. You don't need loads so it will last you a while as well.

Would I Buy Myself? Definitely, I love deep conditioners as this is the only conditioning I do so this is bound to be a favourite.

So overall I'm impressed & can say the products haven't suffered from the eagerness of The Body Shop to make the formulations eco friendly. I'm giving you a pat on the back The Body Shop, its a rare event so enjoy it!

Thanks for reading & let me know if you've got any questions. The Body Shop are currently have an offer on the range, if you buy one you get one half price. Hope your Monday wasn't as bad as mine :)
