So here's a reminder of the prizes

I finally got a new shipment of nail polish posted through my door on Tuesday, I was very happy as I've been waiting for them for ages! stupid volcanic ash! Anyway I immediately wanted to apply this polish. I am sure I'll be doing NOTD's with the others & put them in a haul (hopefully a video one, I have been slacking so much with my YouTube!)
Thanks for reading & I hope you're having a lovely week. Oh I finally got round to adding a closing date for my giveaway, it ends May 8th so get entering!

My biggest insecurity is my eyebrows probably, for years I basically had half brows as they we're so thin & sparse, not through over plucking just because they're so blonde & fine like the rest of my hair. Thanks to an eyebrow growth serum (which I still haven't reviewed) I have full brows & couldn't be happier. However they are still blonde, so blonde that when they are in the natural state you cant see them on my face!
So as you can imagine I buy quite a few eyebrow products, here is the latest one I've been using
What ELF say;
'Create polished and defined brows for a flawless fuller look! The “lift” pencil’s sheer light-reflecting pigments act as an arch support under the brows to enhance. While the “fill” pencil shades in the eyebrow to blend in the natural shape, fill in any sparse areas and define the lines.'
First of all the highlight side comes in one shade throughout the colour choices and is light, I can just about get away with it, but any darker than me it would look odd. But I do use it to sharpen my brows & use it on the waterline and inner corner to brighten the eyes which it is really useful for.
The filler side's texture is not a traditional brow pencil, It's so creamy which i dreaded to use at first because I assumed it would just slide off my face during the day. I was pleasantly surprised when I returned home from work & I had eyebrows still on my face.
The fact that is creamy means applying it is a dream but you need to be light handed especially if you're hair is naturally light as it will look really fake but that's true for any brow product.
Overall I really rate this product unlike some of the Studio range I've used in the past, It really does everything you need & for £3.50 you really can't grumble. The texture wont be for everyone as its kind of a hybrid wax/pencil but I can honestly say I will be purchasing it again when it runs out!
Hope you enjoyed reading & remember to enter my giveaway all you need to do is be a subscriber & leave a comment with enter me in the post's comments. Simples!!

Thought i'd do a quick things i'm loving post for you, could be thought as as my April favourites, essentially because they are the same, I just forgot to change the label of my picture!! haha
Essie Super Duper Top Coat - This is seriously so much better than Seche Vite due to the fact it doesn't go gloopy after 2 weeks, it dries super quick & makes your nails lovely & shiny & helps keep them chip free.
Mac Ever Hip Lipstick - Its a gorgeous consistency & texture leaving the lips with colour and shine with no need for gloss and the most gorgeous pinky peach colour. It is so pretty!
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara - I got this recently & am really enjoying it, I will do a proper review soon but its nice & easy when i'm getting ready for work so its a favourite at the moment!
Origins Youthtopia Foundation - I got sent this from Vexinthecity to review so you will see a review soon, it really is a lovely foundation providing its on top of a primer, lasts all day & really flattering to your skin.
China Glaze Spontaneous Nail Polish - A really vivid creamy purple, it makes me smile wearing it & very resistant to chippages!! Perfectamundo!!
Cloud Nine Wide Plated Straighteners - I recently got sent these (again review coming soon as well as a demo video) they are lovely to use really put a shine on my hair & curl it with ease compared to my GHD's.
Mac Woodwinked Eyeshadow (top) - A beautiful brown with a golden sheen, when i first got this shadow I really wasn't keen on how it looked on me but now i've got a tan it really is beautiful just on its own or paired with other colours. If you're quite fair i'd say tread carefully as it can be tricky.
Mac Amber Lights Eyeshadow (bottom) - A gorgeous golden peachy brown, it really is just gorgeous all over the lid with a bit of the woodwinked in the crease, super easy combo & not too over the top so you can wear it during the day!
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend! Can't believe its nearly May!! where does the time fly!!
Thanks for reading!!

I'm having a slight Veruca Salt moment (Spoilt brat from Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory) in that I've seen so many things I want at the moment, i'm going through a jewellery phase i think.
Hmmm where to start;
Chanel Soleil De Tan - £28 - The classic cream bronzer with a fancy new name, a must for summer really & I love cream products, need to get to a Chanel counter ... hmm I shall be near one very soon (tomorrow!) However I am tempted to resist for a while until Mac To The Beach is released as they are doing a cream bronzer! .... Or I could get both! hehe
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion - £15 - A must have just in case a spot pops up & you want rid.
Zoe & Morgan Lasso Love Ring - £75 - Really gorgeous ring that looks lovely on, I really want this, I bought a 'dupe' in Topshop yesterday for £4 but its bigger & doesn't look as nice, plus i'm allergic to it!
Bow rings left to right
Swarovski Lucia Ring - £66 - So dainty & understated & a really good price. I think this is my preferred bow ring.
Butler & Wilson .... haha i've just looked on the website & its a bangle!!! I retract this from my list! I'm a tool!! if you're interest in a bow bangle it's £48
Tiffany Bow ring - £1250 - bit pricey ... ok a lot pricey hence why I wont be owning this anytime soon but its so pretty!
Tiffany Bow Earrings - $125 - I don't think you can get these in the UK which is a shame because they're adorable & so inexpensive for Tiffany's. I need to find a swap/custom purchaser in the States.
Burberry Tumbled Leather Crossbody Tote - £650 - I love this, I AM going to own this, I'm going to London in July so this is going to be a purchase, it is practical & stylish & the leather just looks scrumptious. *sigh i'm in lurrve!
Miu Miu Soft Leather Shoulder Bag - $1450 - I love this for the same reasons as above and I do want to get this eventually just not as much as the Burberry one at the minute. Don't Miu Miu have such inventive bag names?
There's my current list of lust! what's on yours?
Thanks for reading & hope you're having a lovely weekend!

First of all WOW! I reached 500 subscribers, thank you all so much for reading what i write & being so kind & lovely. I will be doing a massive giveaway soon (I am going to have a trip to Nars soon so it will include a few bits from there, would people want a choice of the products? any requests for prizes? ideas? let me know!!!)
But I just wanted to say thank you, it means the world when I see someone new subscribe and when people leave comments, I want to respond to them all but bloggers way of responding is shocking, so let me know if you come back & look for a response when you ask a question, or if you like leave your email address with your question/comment & i can email you with my response!
Anyway as the title suggests this review I am going to do is a pretty positive one. I have wanted this product for ages but for some reason (maybe the price) I always picked it up & then put it back before checkout at Boots, and so when I spotted it on offer the other week I immediately bought it. I am now kicking myself for not buying it sooner.
The product in question .... (drum roll please!!)
An overnight blend of nourishing ingredients for hair that feels silky and replenished when you wake up.
What you do;
Apply 1 or 2 pumps throughout the hair when its dry or damp before bed. Simples!
What I Think;
First of all the smell like the other products in the range is divine and like the rest of the range this product is excellent. I wash my hair every night without conditioning it (which I only do once a week ... Naughty Nicola) and for this reason it is a necessity to use a leave in conditioner, this night serum has replaced the need for one.
I use about 2 pumps in my towel dried hair and brush my hair which is so easy to do once this is in your hair. I then simply twist all my hair up in a bun & that's my hair done for the night. The next morning I let my hair down which is still damp & brush it through, once its dry there's no residue at all, you're hair is so soft & silky. This stuff is amazing!
The time you can feel that its working the most, is the next time you wash your hair after applying it, essentially you're washing out the serum & your hair feels like its been conditioned before you've even shampooed or conditioned. So essentially you're constantly having a conditioner in your hair keeping it in excellent condition which in the long term protects your hair from moisture loss & keeps it looking smooth, silky & shiny! (all the things i'm assuming you like, if you enjoy frizz & dryness I could recommend a few products! :) )
As you can tell I really recommend this product, not necessarily for short hair but for longer damaged dry hair that you want to maintain the condition of, smells great, doesn't cost a fortune & does a bloody good job!
You can get it from pharmacies/drug stores/supermarkets for about £7.50
Thanks for reading & let me know if you've tried this or any other hair saviours you have!
Hope you're having a lovely week!!

I've been meaning to do this review for ages! As per usual more shiny items get in the way but I decided today is the day (mainly because I've just applied some to my face).
Basically due to my boyfriends very prickly stubble I get rashes all round my mouth & chin when we ... well you know ... kiss.
I was at my wits end with it, it looks horrible & I'd had enough & when the opportunity to try something that could heal it I jumped at the chance!
So what is it?
Essentially it is an antiseptic ointment with the texture of Vaseline & smell of vanilla.
It has been produced by Lucas Remedies for over 80 years, Dr Lucas stated in his 1906 Handbook that he believed that the papaw was the finest antiseptic yet discovered. Of the thousands of specimens that he studied, he devoted special study to the Papaw Tree.
The Papaw Ointment can be used as a local topical application on the following:
- Abscesses - Boils, Bruises, Burns, Carbuncles, Chafing
- Cuts - Cysts, Dry & Cracked skin on hands & feet
- Gravel rash - Heat rash, Insect stings, Mosquito and other bites
- Open wounds - Pimples, Scalds, Scars, Sunburn
- Swelling associated with injury - Splinters & thorns.
- Nappy Rash, Eczema, Psoriasis
Yes! It is seriously amazing, I had tried everything on my rash & although nappy rash cream did help to sooth it, it didn't get rid of it. Within 4 days of using this my rash was gone!
I really was amazed, yes its not the most attractive thing to put on your face but it sure does work! I used it at bed time after cleansing & before applying my moisturiser.
Not only is it brilliant on these conditions, I use it as a lip balm as well & it is brilliant for that as well. I think its a great all round product that every woman should have in their home/handbag in case of emergency eg. cracked heels, lips, rashes, spots etc!
Its available in the travel tubes (shown above) for £3.65, 75g for £8.99 & 200g pots for £19.49 from here.
Seriously adore this product & the company who sell it, they're so friendly!! A definite Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream dupe without the horrible smell & so cheap!!
Thanks for reading & hope you're having a lovely day!!
I painted my nails ... again! So thought i'd pop a NOTD up & talk about the Illamasqua Body Electrics collection.
I got this lovely package from Illamasqua with the Jo'Mina nail polish and Liquid Metal in Surge
I love the polish as you can tell above, as for the liquid metal, it seems more liquidy than the other metals & not as rich or pigmented. A lovely pewter colour, it manages to be a golden silver green which is beyond my brain powers as to how its both silver & gold & green (i'm a sandwich short of a picnic clearly!)
I think this is possibly the liquid metal which has the least amount of uses as I don't think you could get away with it as a highlighter like the gold one, or a bronzer like the bronze one. It is a gorgeous colour so a lovely inner corner colour or lid colour or lower lash line colour, but most likely will need setting. I need to play around with it a little more to figure out a use for it!
The other items I have tried from the collections are the bronzers as I have them both in the bronzing duos, they are lovely bronzers, there's no glitter in it but a sheen of gold added so if you love the golden goddess look they are for you!
The visuals for the collection as per usual are stunning and pieces of art in themselves, personally no collection is going to beat the Sirens one for me as it was my perfect makeup look, bronzes & golds. However there are a few additional items i'd like as well as the ones I have from Body Electrics so watch out for them purchases!
Let me know if you're eyeing up any products for the collection!
Thanks for reading & i'll see you soon, hope you're having a lovely weekend!!

I wanted to share some of my thoughts with you about a few products I’ve been using by Avène in order to sort out my skin which was going haywire a few months ago.
For those of you unaware of Avène it’s a ‘French dermo-cosmetic brand dedicated to each level of skin sensitivity; from sensitive, intolerant to allergic’. The brand launched in 1990 and is centered around Avène Thermal Spring Water and it’s soothing properties, the hydrotherapy centre founded in 1743 near the Sainte-Odile spring is dedicated to dermatology using the Avène Thermal Spring Water to address a variety of dermatological conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema and burns.
The thing that pulled me to the brand was the Skin Recovery Cream as it sounded perfect, I also purchased a cleanser as my skin had gone from oily to very dry/sensitive & so a cleanser designed for oily skin was just making the problem worse. I then got offered to try some of their other products and so slotted them nicely into my routine and hey presto my skin is looking so much better! (if I do say so myself)
Avène Gentle Gel CleanserThis according to Avène has been specially formulated for normal to combination sensitive skin, to remove all traces of makeup leaving the skin soft and supple and enriched with moisturising agents to prevent skin dryness.
First of all this is an excellent cleanser, I don’t use it to remove my makeup, I use a cleansing oil (non Avène) for that but I always double cleanse at night so use this afterwards and then just use this in the morning to freshen up. It leaves my skin squeeky clean, not in that it strips the moisture out of it, in that I have no residue from the cleansing oil or makeup left on my face it removes everything & makes my skin feel so soft, it has no distinctive smell just a very clean smell if that makes sense. The packaging is nice & simple, looks good on the bathroom shelf, all Avène packaging looks lovely & sophisticated to me, the French do do it well, and I always appreciate a product that’s in a pump, nice & hygienic & for ease of use with wet hands. As for value, I’d say the place most people are likely to get it in the UK would be Boots, it’s sold in most stores now. From Boots this costs £11.50 for 200mls, I’ve been using for a couple of months & its three quarters full i’d say & i use it twice a day so very good value.
There is another form of the Gentle Cleanser for really sensitive skin which you don’t wash off you use cotton pads to remove it, I did get sent this but because i’d already started using the Gentle Gel Cleanser I thought i’ll keep it for when this one has run out & then you’ll see my review on that.
Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray
Avène says this is ‘essential soothing care product for sensitive, hypersensitive, allergic and irritated skin, can be used to complete skin cleansing, to set makeup, after outdoor activity and in summer when travelling’
This I personally use as my toner, I have been sent the Evian water spray as well from a PR company & I shall be doing a comparison post of cosmetic sprays soon with some alternative uses as well. I use this one as my toner in essence because it’s Avène & most of my skin care is Avène now, so it makes sense to me. Its really refreshing in the morning to wake you up after cleansing and sooths my irritated skin lovely so I love using it. Its available in a few sizes £5.50 for 150mls or £3 for 50mls (which has lasted me 2 months)
Avène Rich Skin Recovery Cream
According to Avène this calming cream has been specifically designed for naturally sensitive skin or skin which has become sensitive due to different aggressions (my boyfriend’s stubble), it quickly calms irritation and helps restore the hydrolipidic film and provides long-lasting protection.
This stuff is magic I think, I applied it for the first time one night, I woke up the next morning & my skin was softer than it ever has been, my dryness around my chin where it was worst took about 2 days to disappear and I found it really helped take the redness out of my rash and calmed it down in conjunction with the other product I was using. This product was designed with as little ingredients as possible, so is Paraben free (if you’re worried about them), fragrance and colouring agent free so there isn’t a smell at all to this product.
This comes in a plastic tube and is £12 for 40mls, which is a bit expensive but worth it for me, I am actually going to buy some more tonight after work! It’s lasted me a good two months of using it as a day cream & then under my moisturiser at night, if you were using it as more of a treatment it’ll last you a lot longer.
Avène Extremely Rich Compensating Cream
Described as ‘nourishing care for very dry sensitive skin’ This as the title would suggest is very rich, so is my night cream meaning it has all night to soak into my skin and any excess is washed off in the morning when I cleanse my face. The cream is formulated to replace lipid deficiencies and restore the skins natural protective barrier, protecting it from external aggressions. Lipids help constitute the principal structure of living cells together with carbohydrates and proteins (so we like them!).
I do find this extremely rich so it has solved my dry skin problems and so did its job, its paraben free again if you’re into that and does have a smell but again like the cleanser very fresh & non offensive and once its on your face you don’t smell anything! I highly recommend this for people for dry and very dry skin, your skin will drink it up and love you for it to boot! It costs £15.95 for 50mls, you don’t need a lot so it will last you a while!
Overall as you can probably tell I love Avène, to the point that I went and bought three of their products over my lunch break (& in the middle of writing this post).
I’ve bought some more of the Skin Recovery Cream, i’m trying the non rich version to see if there’s a difference, I also bought the soothing hydrating serum (I love moisturising serums!) and finally the Anti-Redness Light Moisturizing Cream (to use as my day cream!)
Quick tip kids, if you’re after some Avène or other skin care get yourself to boots as its 3 for 2 at the moment, I saved £12 buying these 3 products! Jackpot!
I would switch my entire skin care to Avène if they did a cleansing oil (which I don’t believe they do) & once I try their scrub & eye cream & i’m a total Avène convert.
The products are kind to your skin, give you a lovely result & I don’t think too hard on your purse either! So I highly recommend if you hadn’t already guessed!
Sorry it was such a long post & if you made it this far well done!! Hope you're all having a lovely day & thanks for reading!
Disclaimer - The products I got sent from Avene were the Thermal Spring Water and the Rich Compensating Cream

Another NOTD as promised in my last post!!
I really enjoy this polish, but still can't decide whether its a greyish blue or blueish grey! I find my opinion changes depending on what light it's in and in some lights it even looks green!!
It's a really unique colour that applies very nicely, but doesn't last very long on the nails, not in that it chips it just kind of wears off if you know what i mean, so for example I applied it last night & just shoved another coat on top tonight to cover any of the wearing off. Not the worst problem but could be better, worth getting for the unique colour I think.
Hope you're having a lovely week I'm having a brilliant one! :)
Thanks for reading & i'll see you soon!

So as the title suggests this is a Mac haul, a bit slow but it does contain some Liberty of London purchases. In my defence it's this late purely based on the Mac delivery methods!
So here's my purchases, I was sensible!
So I got:
Ever Hip Lipstick - A gorgeous pinky peach
Blue India Nail Polish - A very unique blue toned dark gray or gray toned dark blue i cant decide
Amber Lights Eyeshadow - A golden peachy brown with golden shimmer
4 Pan Palette - .... a 4 pan palette!
Top - Amber Lights
Bottom - Ever Hip
I'm sure you'll be seeing Blue India in a NOTD very soon (most likely tomorrow, i'm about to get my painting on!)
I love Ever Hip it really is beautiful and with the creamsheen formula makes it even more appealing.
Amber lights is gorgeous too as i'm sure you'll agree an everyday colour which suits most people personally it makes my green eyes more intense which is always a bonus.
As for the 4 pan palette, its a 4 pan palette, I needed a new one for my makeup bag as the last one cracked!!
I loved everything I got, did you get anything from the new collections?
Thanks for reading & i'll see you soon with that NOTD!!
Sunday, 11 April 2010
The other day I decided I needed some more Nars in my life and so I spent all morning at work compling my wish list. I thought i'd share it with you so you could give me some more recommendations or opinions on colours! Personally when I make a Mac order now I struggle to think of things to get (I know this is a good thing) So i'm moving on to Nars!
There is another thing to add to the list which is the Enchanted Cream Blush which is being released on May 1st, it looks the perfect colour for me, but I couldn't find a pic of it!
So as you can see i've mainly gone for neutral eyeshadows, the Key Largo duo looks my perfect kind of colours as they are a peach & a bronze. And of course I have to be a sheep by purchasing the Mekong & Galapagos eyeshadows as well as the Sheer Glow. I do have the Oil Free Foundation from Nars so it'll be interesting to compare.
I've gone for non shimmery blushes, as I can't stand glitter on my face so Orgasm/Super Orgasm are out, the tint tubes are also supposed to be out in May so I can't wait to try them!
As for the multiples, its not something that i'd use everyday & the shades I want are Orgasm & South Beach so because they're in this set of mini's it seemed a good idea to get them in a smaller size!
So any other recommendations or opinions of my choice, let me know. I feel a Nars shopping spree coming on!!
Hope you're having a lovely day!! & Thanks for reading!
Whilst on Twitter a few of us were discussing maxi dresses and now that spring is in full flow its time to get them out, so I thought I'd write a post with some advice for what suits certain types of women & some of my favorites I've seen this season.
First of all I love maxi dresses, I think they're flattering, easy to wear, so pretty & can be dressed up or down so very versatile. Having bought an unbelievable amount of them (mainly returning most of them) I've worked out what the best type is for me & my shape. Shape may not be the best of phrases to use in the terms of maxi dresses as hourglass, pear, apple don't really apply, I'm afraid ladies it's all about boobies!
Basically the bigger they are, I personally think the more you should veer away from one type and towards another unless you wear a vest top underneath (personally i don't like to do this)
My bust size is 36gg & my waist is about a size 12-14 so I've found that low cut ones look dreadful on me, the material to cover the boobs in my dress size simply is just too small so it's cleavage central which personally isn't my style (i know if you've got it flaunt it, but when they're my size its too OTT) So i stick to a certain style unless I want to be swamped in a size 20 dress that covers the boys but drowns the rest of me! no fun!
So here are my recommendations!
Basically strapless maxi dresses that are elasticated at the bust are my best recommendations, they fit you perfectly & I think its so flattering to show your chest off without showing off the boobies, sophisticated sexyness, so get yourself a good strapless bra. Failing that the other type I've shown again is very flattering with the top of the dress in the vest style, you can wear a bra and because the top is solid colour it doesn't bring attention to them, if you're after attention just get a push up bra & you're laughing!
I actually bought the 1st one when writing this post & have the 3rd one already, I kind of want all the ones I recommend for big boobies but must resist!
The only thing you do have to be careful with is if you're belly sticks out further than your boobies because you're bound to get asked how far along you are, which just isn't nice!
These are a few more of my favorites for the larger boobies that i think are great for festival season, I can just see them being worn with wellies or gladiators, millions of bangles up the arm, messy hair & Ray Bans!
Now I really am not suggesting the smaller boobied amongst us cannot wear these styles, on the contrary, I think flat chested people can get away with all types of maxi dresses personally.
Even though flat chested girls can get away with all maxi dresses I'm showing some small booby friendly dress to highlight why they're better for flatter chests than for the big boobied gals. For example the 1st two dresses could be worn with a boob tube underneath & look fine but to me you're too covered, this is meant to show off a chest and so flat chested girls who have a space where the big boobied would have cleavage will look great in this plus no bras with these would be for the best.
As for the 3rd dress, not necessarily for the small boobied but the skinnies, this will look gorgeous on girls who aren't carrying much junk in their trunk as its loose & doesn't grip any curves so will be much more flattering for a smaller frame, on girls with curves it will just highlight the width of the hips & not highlight the waist so can make them look bigger than they are. I'd love to try this on to see what it would look like on my frame i do fear i would look a heffalump but if the belt is moved it would be better.
Just to show that although any of the dresses mentioned can be worn at night if accessorised properly, however you could always buy a specific one & these oneswould look great on big boobied & small boobies so perfect!
As for accessories;
Casual - I love to wear a cropped denim jacket with my maxi dresses along with flat sandals probably gladiators or studded sandals, loads of bangles & jewellery & messy wavy hair with a few plaits thrown in for good measure.
Night time - I tend to just wear the dress without any jacket with a pair of wedges & again lovely jewellery & wavy hair.
Hope this was useful to some people or at least gave you some pretty dresses to look at! Any questions or advice just drop me a comment or email.
Thanks for reading & have a great day!

I got a Blackberry approx £200, my iPhone was getting forgetfull & not giving me my messages when they're sent, so I got this as my temporary phone until the iPhone 4 comes out soon! Its a Blackberry Curve 8520 if you're wondering & I actually really like it!
God that took me ages, BT have forgotten to tell me there's a fault on my phone line so my internet speed is pre-broadband! so this was a task!
Anyway hoped you enjoyed reading & if you've got any requests for swatches, reviews etc then let me know & i'll get on it!!
Thanks for reading & hope you're having a lovely weekend!!
