Illamasqua Toxic Nature Cream Pigments!

Friday 11 March 2011

Hey Ladies,

As you will all know Illamasqua have released a new collection for Spring Summer 2011 and because I was unable to attend the event they very kindly sent me a few products from the collection, two cream pigments & a nail polish. I wanted to talk about the cream pigments first.

As you can see my Mac 109 has been in them!

'Unpredictable, uncharted and unnatural, Illamasqua unleashes Toxic Nature for Spring/Summer 2011, a colour collection born from a visionary concept of nature fighting back against the genetically modified society that plunders it. Illamasqua has created the Toxic Nature collection through a palette of lurid shades, corrupted hues and glistening muted tones that offer intoxicating versions of their original selves.'

First of all I love the images of the collection & how well thought out it is but I find this to be the same of all Illamasqua collections, the stories behind them are always so creative & weird.

These cream pigments are seriously amazing products, as soon as I opened the Emerge shade I was applying it to my cheeks with a Mac 109, it is a fantastic blusher for light-ish skin and what's even better is that if you have oily skin & avoid cream blushers because of the shine they leave on your skin these cream pigments dry matte and are water resistant so perfect for oily skin! The hollow shade is the perfect shade for a contour shade, the name Hollow is spot on! Also on a side note I applied these over powder last night & they were fine and looked fantastic so great for a touch up during the day if you need a bit of blusher over your powder or to transform your makeup to a night look!

You can use them as an eyeshadow or on the lips & body too, I tried them on the lips but the peach shade is a little too light for me but would definitely suit some people & I will be trying them as an eyeshadow/base tomorrow (I had a job interview today so couldn't risk testing them out!)

I couldn't be more impressed with the cream pigments & hoping that Illamasqua increase the shade range as they are really fantastic on the cheeks so would definitely purchase brighter colours! I have a nail polish from the collection to share with you but I have a Shellac manicure on at the moment so can't show it you on the nails just yet as my Shellac is such a dark shade!

I hope you've all had a lovely week & are with me in praying that the people of Japan & other areas affected by today's earthquake will recover quickly & remain strong.

  1. Thanks for the review, sadly i am not in the UK to purchase any, but i would love the pastel purple one and i wish i could try them. Hollow is to die for, maybe it reminds me abit of a MAC paintpot.
