My wolf pack is down by two!

Monday 30 May 2011

Hey ladies,

I hear talk of bloggers losing their 'mojo' quite often in various forms and although I have had quiet periods of blogging I've thankfully never lost my urge to blog. At the moment however I just can't seem to sit down & type up a review or anything. I've been more about the YouTube videos at the moment not because I prefer it but because it distracts me from the truth that I'm very sad at the moment. If you follow me on twitter you will know that I've lost two of my bestest buds of 17 years within the space of a month & it's sapped most of the life out if me.

Snag was my baby, the worlds most stubborn dog, You would give him some tablets & he would refuse to swallow them for love nor money, he'd keep them in his cheek & spit them out when youn weren't looking. He knew perfectly well it would mean you'd wrap them up in yet more ham to get him to swallow the buggers! Whenever i'd visit him he would just trot behind me & follow me round the house & when i sat down he would look up at me like a love sick puppy. He loved any type of attention & had to be the 1st to everything, whether it meant walkies, tea time or saying hello in the morning. He loved you showering him with love, I literally mean showering as well, he loved a bath, blow dry & brush more than any dog I've known. I will always remember being at my mums & my boyfriend waking up & saying 'what the hell's that noise?' & I said, 'oh it's just Snag sniffing under my door to see if I'm still here' & then him lying outside my door until I let him in for a good morning cuddle. He was the best dog I have ever owned without question, he was such a character & had so much personality, he died last week & I can't describe my devastation.

Snuf died about a month ago now, he was the runt of the litter & was my favourite when they were puppies because I always remember the first time I saw him, he was tiny quivering in this big basket on his own whilst Snag lapped up all attention (nothing ever changed) as a dog he was a funny sod, he just lived in his own little world tip tapping through the house on his own adventures, he let us know when he wanted a stroke he just would rub himself against your hand to give you a hint. Occasionally he would go scatty & run round the house like he was a puppy through sheer joy that me or my brothers had come to see him & just kept himself to himself the rest of the time. Great quirky dog who shaked none stop which vets never understood. Will miss him loads.

My heart has been seriously battered recently & people dismiss losing a pet as nothing but they have no idea that it's like losing a good friend, I got these two dogs when I was eight so I have had them most of my life & it is significantly emptier now than a month ago. I hate so much that they lived & died in Spain & that I never had chance to give them one last kiss & say goodbye.

If you've got a pet seriously shower them with love & never stop because when you have to face life without them you'll regret any moment that you didn't.

Sorry if I've depressed anyone but that's what my lifes been about recently & to pretend otherwise would be lies. I have seen the new hangover film today (hence the title of this post) & I have to say it's good, not as good as the 1st one but still decent, if you liked the original it's safe to say yoU'll probably like the new one. I will be back to my normal posting soon, if you've got any requests let me know the distraction will be a relief!

  3. Oh my god, your post really got me emotional.
I also have a dog since I am 8 and he is now 15 years old and I can see him getting weaker and weaker and it just breaks my heart. The first thing I do in the morning is to check if he is OK and snoring graciously :)
I agree with you when you say people often dismiss it as if it was just " a dog" but it's way more than that. Someone once told me, it's ok when your dog dies, just get an other one. As is it was no biggie, what a vile person!

I'm so sorry for your two dogs, they were super super cute. I can't say I hope you feel better because you obviously don't but try to remember the sweet and loving life you gave them both and how lucky they were to have someone loving them like you do! :')

  5. I'm so sorry for your loss!I grew up with pets too and my baby (well, she was grown up but I raised her) great dane's death was something that I never recovered from. I was with her when she died and thinking about it still brings tears to my eyes.
It's awful when people dismiss the feelings that go along with losing a pet. Pets are your friends, children, confidantes and family all rolled into one. Losing one is a devastating part of being an animal lover. I hope you feel better soon!

  7. So sorry to hear about those gorgeous doggies!

I really hate it when people dismiss the death of a loving family pet. They just simply don't understand and shouldn't say anything at all!

I've grown up with dogs and can totally relate to what you are going through. There are no words to describe it. Hope you start to feel better remembering the good times xx

  13. I opened this post thinking it would be about The Hangover, but now I'm sat here with tears in my eyes. I'm so, so sorry lovely. I had no idea about Snag but I remember how upset you were when Snuf died. They were gorgous. I still miss my dogs, one died two years ago and the other died 8 months ago. It does get easier, but getting easier doesn't bring them back, and it certainly doesn't mean the missing feeling goes away. Pets are like 'real' siblings and it is just heartbreaking. Sending lots of love and hugs your way sweetheart. xxxxx

  14. Oh this post has broke my heart :( I'm so sorry for your loss. It's true that it does get easier in time but I'm not going to tell you it doesn't stop hurting because I don't think it does, you will always miss them.
I had a cat from the age of 5 and she died last April. She was my best friend and I felt like a piece of me had been taken away. I still sob about it now! Pets are more than "just animals" but clearly not everyone thinks this way, and in a way I feel sorry for those people. I think pets can enrich our lives so much, so for anyone who doesn't feel that bond with an animal, well, that's their loss!

  25. This post was lovely and made me cry. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have been lucky enough to have four dogs in my life and three of them are still around.

Last year, just before Christmas, my dog, and sort of brother, Toby was put down. I spent the entire week beforehand in tears. I bought him new toys so his last day would be full of fun. I bought him his favourite treats. I tried my best to commit his old doggy smell to memory as I cried into his neck. I wasn't there when he was put down - I was at work. I hated myself for it, but I didn't want to make him distressed...

I miss him EVERY day. And I always will.
    No dog can be replaced.

I still have two furry siblings, who I love to death. And a furry son, a Jack Russell called Max who is my ACTUAL best friend.

I'm lucky to have them in my life and I know your boys are looking down on you (all dogs go to heaven after all) and wishing they could stop you from crying.
At least now they aren't in pain. They looked like they were gorgeous pups.

I hope you're okay. I know this means nothing, but it'll be okay one day. :) Xxx

  27. This post really bought a tear to my idea (sorry for the late comment, I've been on a bit of blogging catch up session). It's so heartbreaking to lose any pet, but I always find dogs to be the worst. They literally are like a man's best friend. A few years ago we lost both of our dogs at the same time. One was 12 years old but the other was older than I was. It might sound weird but I think dogs can get heartbroken too and miss another dog when they are gone. My 12 year old dog died first and my eldest dog was on her last legs anyway but it really seemed as though when the spaniel was gone she gave up all hope in life and it was as though she died from heartbreak. Any dog owner will understand how you are feeling right now so don't beat yourself up about it!

  28. Abhair.com has gradually built its forte in hair extension manufacturing and retailing since its inception. However, the new and exciting range of clip in extensions that the company is offering now is expected to spur the growth and popularity of the online hair extension seller. Clip-in extensions of a wide range of length, shades, and thickness are now available in the e-retail store. “The meticulously designed hair extensions can be fitted closely to the scalp”, a sales representative depicted the unique characteristic of these extensions very recently. “Customers can buy as many as clip-in extensions they wish just to increase the volume and thickness of their hair. Indian Remy Hair extensions are particularly popular among our customers as it can be cut, coloured, curled and straightened as they wish.
