Juicy Couture Ring!

Hey Ladies,

No doubt you will have all seen this before but I don't care because it's not very often I try something out & want to immediately blog about it.

Having tried the original Juicy Couture a few weeks ago I had been told that the Couture Couture smell was even nicer so was looking forward to having a whiff!

It is amazing, the exact smells that I love from perfumes, base notes of amber, sandlewood & vanilla, with heart notes of jasmine and honeysuckle and top notes of mandarin and orange flower gives the perfect oriental floral scent. I cannot tell you how much I loved this perfume as soon as it hit my skin, it needed no settling & it's a no brainer, one you can spritz & go & know you smell amazing! I have the full size bottle in my perfume shopping basket as I type!!

As for the packaging that I have this smell in, I am in love with the ring, it's a completely gorgeous statement ring that is perfect for a night out & you will smell great all night without having to carry round a bottle in your bag. It's such a great gift to give to a girl friend or a pay day treat for yourself if you love the smell.

Amazing perfume & an amazing ring. I can't stop smelling my wrist & looking at my hand!!

My wolf pack is down by two!

Hey ladies,

I hear talk of bloggers losing their 'mojo' quite often in various forms and although I have had quiet periods of blogging I've thankfully never lost my urge to blog. At the moment however I just can't seem to sit down & type up a review or anything. I've been more about the YouTube videos at the moment not because I prefer it but because it distracts me from the truth that I'm very sad at the moment. If you follow me on twitter you will know that I've lost two of my bestest buds of 17 years within the space of a month & it's sapped most of the life out if me.

Snag was my baby, the worlds most stubborn dog, You would give him some tablets & he would refuse to swallow them for love nor money, he'd keep them in his cheek & spit them out when youn weren't looking. He knew perfectly well it would mean you'd wrap them up in yet more ham to get him to swallow the buggers! Whenever i'd visit him he would just trot behind me & follow me round the house & when i sat down he would look up at me like a love sick puppy. He loved any type of attention & had to be the 1st to everything, whether it meant walkies, tea time or saying hello in the morning. He loved you showering him with love, I literally mean showering as well, he loved a bath, blow dry & brush more than any dog I've known. I will always remember being at my mums & my boyfriend waking up & saying 'what the hell's that noise?' & I said, 'oh it's just Snag sniffing under my door to see if I'm still here' & then him lying outside my door until I let him in for a good morning cuddle. He was the best dog I have ever owned without question, he was such a character & had so much personality, he died last week & I can't describe my devastation.

Snuf died about a month ago now, he was the runt of the litter & was my favourite when they were puppies because I always remember the first time I saw him, he was tiny quivering in this big basket on his own whilst Snag lapped up all attention (nothing ever changed) as a dog he was a funny sod, he just lived in his own little world tip tapping through the house on his own adventures, he let us know when he wanted a stroke he just would rub himself against your hand to give you a hint. Occasionally he would go scatty & run round the house like he was a puppy through sheer joy that me or my brothers had come to see him & just kept himself to himself the rest of the time. Great quirky dog who shaked none stop which vets never understood. Will miss him loads.

My heart has been seriously battered recently & people dismiss losing a pet as nothing but they have no idea that it's like losing a good friend, I got these two dogs when I was eight so I have had them most of my life & it is significantly emptier now than a month ago. I hate so much that they lived & died in Spain & that I never had chance to give them one last kiss & say goodbye.

If you've got a pet seriously shower them with love & never stop because when you have to face life without them you'll regret any moment that you didn't.

Sorry if I've depressed anyone but that's what my lifes been about recently & to pretend otherwise would be lies. I have seen the new hangover film today (hence the title of this post) & I have to say it's good, not as good as the 1st one but still decent, if you liked the original it's safe to say yoU'll probably like the new one. I will be back to my normal posting soon, if you've got any requests let me know the distraction will be a relief!

My Skin Care Routine

Hey Ladies,

I get so many questions & compliments about my skin that I thought I'd record an updated skin care routine & share it on here too.

I think it's fairly simple thanks to the Liz Earle additions i've made over the past two months, I realise that my skin reacts well to being soft & gentle with it.

Thanks for watching & if you've any questions let me know. I'm running out of my Embryolisse so if you've got a suggestion for a good moisturiser that I can use at night & during the day let me know!

NOTD: Mavala Aquamarine

Hey Ladies,

I seem to be back into my nail polish addiction at the moment, my nails are finally healthy after the damage from press on nails has grown out & so I'm enjoying painting them all kinds of colours again, I picked this polish up yesterday & been looking at nail art tutorials so thought i'd attempt a bit for some fun!

I love this shade, it does take 3 coats to get opaque as its so sheer but once it is it's a gorgeous minty green with a gorgeous golden micro shimmer. I absolutely love this & aquamarine is the perfect name, it's just the shade of the sea on a desert island to me! Love it!!

In terms of the dots it is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Gray by Gray, I couldn't choose between the two polishes so I thought i'd try the dots!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, i've had a quite a nice one & spent today eyeing up nail polishes & watching football!

Sally Hansen Commander in Chic EXACT Metro Chic Dupe!

Hey Ladies,

I literally couldn't wait to tell you all about this nail polish, a bit boring of me to post about the same nail polish twice in a week but if you live in the UK & been after Sephora by OPI Metro Chic there is finally an alternative, last week it would have been pointless to recommend it but not any more!!

One Nail is Metro Chic can you guess which one?
Seriously Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic is the closest i've ever come to Metro Chic in finding a match, in natural light its impossible to tell which finger is the Metro Chic with a flash on it, I can slightly tell but it might be because I know which one it is. FINALLY the Sally Hansen collection is available in the UK in larger Boots stores and online, they're on offer too at the moment if you buy one you get the second half price, they're £6.99 each!

So my question is .... Which finger is the Metro Chic???

NOTD: My All Time Favourite Nail Polish

Hey Ladies,

I'm sure this will be no surprise to some people but I love Taupish/Greigeish polishes, if I see one I buy it in hope that it will be comparable to the polish below, sadly they never are. Whilst I was doing a mammoth swatching session for a comparison post between all my greige polishes I realised most are fairly unique and that my all time favourite still remains the same!

Sephora by OPI - Metro Chic
It is the most interesting nail colour I think I've come across, it is the perfect greyish purple with a hint of brown, probably the most purple griege I have & I always get comments on it, it manages to look fashionable & chic without being too much for everyday wear. If I had one polish to take on a desert island this would be it, perfect for days by the sea & nights by a fire (I'm thinking of the film six days seven nights if anyones wondering!)

Hope you're all glad it's Friday, I've got a little blog sale going on at the moment so check it out!!

Product of The Week!

Hey Ladies,

I think I may have picked the wrong week for a product like this thanks to the awful weather we're being subjected to but I have heard rumblings of a heat wave hitting us (I'm on my knees praying to the sun god) so this product will come in use soon for sandal season!

Liz Earle Foot Scrub - £10.95

"Naturally active ingredients include natural pumice to remove dead skin cells, softening avocado and wheatgerm oils rich in vitamin E, and the invigorating aromas of peppermint and rosemary essential oils"

First of all if you're suffering from tired feed this stuff is just amazing, run a hot bath have a soak and then rub this into your feet and the peppermint soothes and relieves the aching as well as really effectively scrubbing any dry patches from your feet, if you have 'well worn' feet ie crusty (sorry for the mental image you've now got in your head) you will need a pumice stone but once you're rid of the bad stuff you can just maintain the results with this scrub as it has the natural pumice within it.

Now although it is called a foot scrub it is a really good body scrub on really stubborn areas ie elbows, ankles and knees before fake tanning as it makes them unbelievably smooth without being drying.

At £10.95 it is very reasonably priced like all Liz Earle products and will last you a good while as you don't need much. As you can tell Liz Earle is slowly taking over my bathroom cabinate!

John Frieda 3-day Straight Review

Hey Ladies,

I'm sure you all heard when the John Frieda 3-day Straight was released and I was really interested to see how it worked and having had my hair permed my 'curly hair' is the perfect hair type for this product.

"Designed to work with your hair straighteners, this weightless spray with heat protection blocks out frizz as you straighten. A revolutionary blend of polymers with keratin protein wraps each strand, sealing in straight style for up to 3 days. Keeps hair glossy, smooth and swinging with body."

I have to say this really does all that it promises, it protects your hair whilst you straighten it and keeps it perfectly straight until you wash it, I had been told that it makes your hair too straight & you couldn't add any shape to your hair with the straighteners ie curl the ends of your hair under, well I found that with my hair I didn't have a problem adding the shape & it held like the straightness of my hair for three days.

I think if you regularly straighten your hair this is a must have product, It is a fine weightless spray that doesn't make your hair sticky or leave a residue, it is a heat protectant, will keep the results of straightening your hair until you wash it so you don't have to straighten it as often & leaves your hair silky soft & shiny!!

It is widely available and costs around £7! I completely recommend this product!!!

Want Smooth Skin? Introducing Paula's Choice

Hey Ladies,

As you all know I love skin care, if I was to pick the element of beauty that made me the most excited it would be discovering new products that promise me the results.

I was recently introduced to Paula's Choice, a brand that boasts state of the art skin care items which are cruelty free, environmentally friendly and fragrance & colourant free (which is my favourite thing!) all with reasonable prices.

The brands creator Paula Begoun has more than 25 years experience in the beauty industry and with research into the study of skin and cosmetic ingredients and launched her brand in 1995 with a 5 step routine; cleanse, tone, exfoliate, treat and protect.

The RESIST range from Paula's Choice contains products which smooth and resurface the skin; The Daily Smoothing Treatment £25.15 contains  glycolic acid with salicylic acid to exfoliate the skin, using this treatment daily will continually renew the skin's texture, even out the skin tone and reverse sun damage. Their Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum £25.15 has been designed to help skin generate healthy collagen to resist signs of aging, protect against environmental damage with potent antioxidants and helps repair damaged cells and rebuilds the skin's protective barrier.

All these skin care benefits and it'll cost you under £55 for both which I think is a great price for these type of products. I always think adding a product like one of these into your existing routine will make a big difference in the appearance of your skin.

Paula's Choice are currently offering the chance to win an afternoon tea with Paula herself on the 13th June 2011 in London, which would allow you to get a one on one skin consultation with 'The Cosmetics Cop'  To see the other prizes check out their Facebook page!

To enter be a UK citizen & simply subscribe to Paula's Choice monthly newsletter before 31/05/2011and that's it.

So get subscribing to the newsletter & you could meet the woman herself!!

This post was sponsored by Paula's Choice  as part of their Handpicked Media Campaign.

My Wish List!

Hey Ladies,

I must be having a groundhog day moment because I swear I posted this before ... oh yes Bloggers little holiday deleted my post, so lets try this again.

1. Biotherm Aquasource Hydrator - rrp £33.70

This sounds a great moisturiser, no perfume, fragrance or colourants means it's great for sensitive skin and it looks travel friendly which is crucial to me these days!

2. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Shadow Pencils - rrp - £14 each

These are my ideal products & would just feed the lazy girl in me as they're super easy to use & require ZERO effort, do you know what that means kids? Eyeshadow EVERYDAY! 'Midnight cowboy' is described as a beige with silver shimmer & 'Rehab' is described as a taupe, kind of looks like a bronzish brown, you know how I feel about those shades!

3. Alpha H Liquid Gold - rrp - £30

Love this stuff & need another bottle, I used it at the beginning of the year & after one application I was hooked, this liquid makes your skin tone more even, clearer and more radiant. I recommend everyone try it because it makes a huge difference to your skin without any effort!

4. NuBo Peel and Reveal - rrp - £65

I love anything that promises super smooth skin and I have heard only positive things about these product, I have tried a similar one from Philosophy and loved it so I'm sure this will not disappoint, if only I had a spare £65 lying around!

5. Alyssa Smith 'Google Me' Necklace - £55

I absoloutly adore this necklace and several others on the site, all pieces are made from sterling silver and hand made by Alyssa herself, there's a 'Alyssa Loves' section on the site with 25% off at the moment too. I'm currently attempting to bribe my boyfriend into buying me a custom made necklace from her (an apple mac sign!)

So there's my very repetitive wish list if you read it before blogger went down!! Let me know what you're wishing for or recommend me similar things!!

NOTD - Pink Ombre Nails

Hey Ladies,

I've been seeing a trend for ombre nails for a while so thought i'd give it a go.

Little finger - Essie - Van D'Go
Ring Finger - Orly - Cotton Candy
Middle Finger - Orly - Pixy Stix
Index Finger - Orly - Pixi Stix mixed with Orly Lola
Thumb - Orly - Lola

This is such a fun idea & I love it, In reality all you need is the lightest and darkest shades and just custom mix your shades.  I chose the difficult route and I've re-discovered some amazing nail polishes as they've been sat in my nail polish drawer unloved!!

I have a few more lined up to do in the coming days! I hope you give it a go.

Product of The Week!

Hey Ladies,

It's that time of the week again for my Product of The Week.

This week it comes courtesy of Clearasil's Rapid Action Treatment Cream, this spot cream claims to 'visibly reduce spot size and redness in 4 hours', now I usually dismiss these claims immediately and never really believe most skin care claims on the front of packaging however I had a monster spot on my forehead the other day & applied this before bed & I couldn't believe the difference it made overnight. It was one of those spots underneath the skin which takes days to come to the surface and overnight with the cream on it had been drawn out & ready to be extracted (sorry if a mental image is in your head now) I was very impressed.

What I love about this product is that it's a cream formulation, I didn't get on with a gel type spot cream, I have a liquid one that's tea tree but I hate the smell, this doesn't really have a smell & sinks into the skin instead of just a layer on top of the spot so it can go under your makeup & on top of your makeup if you feel a spot coming on. You also get loads in the tube 25mls for around £6 is unbelievably good value for money.

Worth a look for in Boots if you suffer from break outs and strapped for cash!

Juicy Couture Traveller Fragrances

Hey Ladies,

Until a couple of weeks ago I had never smelt a Juicy Couture fragrance so when I had an opportunity to try out their new traveller versions of their perfumes I jumped at the chance

'Since Juicy girls are always on the move, they should always have their Juicy Couture wherever they go. That’s why Juicy Couture created these adorable little Eau de Parfum travellers, complete with the juiciest strawberry or yummiest cupcake charms...so now your Juicy Couture spritz, is always at your fingertips!'

I didn't quite 'get' this idea at first i.e. 'the traveller bottle' because you get 30mls for your money so not that small a quantity for travelling but then realised that the original packaging for these perfumes are quite elaborate and heavy so not handbag friendly which is where these come in, I just thought of travelling as a holiday (I must be in desperate need for one!) so once I understood their purpose I think they're a great idea for people who enjoy their original bottles!

I received the original Juicy Couture fragrance which is packaged in the silver metallic bottle, I think they look great, they have definitely maintained the luxury image of the brand whilst keeping the bottle travel friendly i.e. not overly heavy and the lid is cleverly hinged so you wont lose the top with a cute little detachable charm .

As for the fragrance it is a mixture of fruits and woody notes, when first sprayed it is very strong and distinctive I actually don't like the initial smell and wrote it off immediately when I first tried it however after it settled & I gave it another smell it mellowed to such a lovely girly unique smell and I really like it I just have to put up with that first hit of smell it gives me (kind of an old fashioned smell I think) but as I said once it settles it does transform to a fruity woody smell, very flattering and a signature smell if I ever smelt one.

These traveller fragrances will cost you around £40 for 30mls of eau de parfum but I know you can find it cheaper (cough cough) all I can say is I now want to buy that amazing Juicy Couture ring they released now I know I like their fragrances!! You can get the traveller bottles in most major department stores as well as online!

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and hoping the sun will come back out to see us I miss him!

Halo Feather Extensions & Giveaway

Hey ladies

I was invited to the launch of the new Halo stand in Debenhams in Manchester city centre on Friday, having never worn hair extensions in my life I thought it would be interesting to pop along.

The first thing that caught our attention was the feather extensions, I had seen them on Fleur at some events recently & loved hers but to get them in the uk was proving difficult & expensive so when I saw they were available & relatively inexpensive I couldn't wait to try them & let you all know about them!

Excuse my very scruffy hair!
Initially I had the purple feathers put in but I thought if I had some more put in it would bring more attention to the purple ones so I purchased a set of natural ones & had them applied. I love them, at the moment they are so unusual & I have had a few comments & questions about them & they've only been in a day! They aren't at all heavy in fact I can barely feel anything in my hair, you can tie them up for bed & they didn't bother me slightly when I was asleep.

You can have them applied in your hair at the Halo counter in Manchester or go on their website & purchase them for around £15 or £10 for the peacock feathers & apply them to yourself, all you need is a pair of pliers & it's as easy as that! They are reusable and last in the hair as long as you like as long as you're not too rough with them.

I also bought a set of pink feathers to giveaway;

In order to win a set just be a subscriber to my YouTube channel & comment on my video about the extensions, it closes on the 7th June.

Good luck & I hope you'll look into these, they're perfect for the summer & festival season!

NOTD: Illamasqua Lament

Hey Ladies,

You may all know I have a slight nail polish addiction, okay okay total addiction. So I end up buying nail polishes in quantities and also total out of season polishes, for example Illamasqua Lament which was purchased in the deep depths of winter & one plucked from my collection on this sunny day!

It is the most beautiful pinkish coral super duper bright practically neon, I can just imagine wearing this on a trip to Miami, it was opaque in two coats but a little difficult to get even so I played it safe & did three coats. Illamasqua nail polish is always great quality & chip resistant on me, yes it's expensive but you pay for the unique shades they release they're almost always un-dupable (white & black an exception to that rule)

Perfect summer shade & one that will be worn a few times I can imagine!

Hope you're all having a great week, mines been up & down but nothing a cup of tea & bit of chocolate can't solve!! Hopefully I shall have a YouTube video up tonight or tomorrow (thank god for the boyfriends internet!!)

Product of The Week!

Hey Ladies,

I am enjoying all this sunshine like the rest of you I'm guessing & can't stop wearing maxi dresses, because I've not been sat outside baking in the sun I'm a little pale & although not opposed to using fake tan I just prefer not to. If I use it on my arms & chest I have to miss out my face as it gives me awful spots so then have to take time to match my face to my tanned body which is too much like hard work, this is when this comes in handy.

St Tropez Everyday Perfect Legs

They say:

'This ultra-rich, radical tanning duo combines a gradual self tan and a flawless finish of instant bronze specially for legs.'

Yes it may say Everyday Perfect Legs but that didn't stop me slavering it on my arms! It has been in a favourite video of mine before & I have not stopped using it since, there are two pumps under the lid one with a gradual tanner & the other an instant tan.

The gradual tanner is excellent at adding warmth to your skin without it looking like fake tan and adding a decent amount of colour after just one use & if I don't add any to my face it is easy to match to my body as it isn't super dark like when I use my Xen-Tan. Just a lovely looking natural shade that looks like you've been sat in the sun. It smells perfumey but none biscuity so when I pop it on before bed it isn't an awful smell!

The instant tan I don't tend to use unless I end up going out with no notice, in that case it does an excellent job at adding a tint to your skin that stays on all night & you don't have to worry about it transferring on to your clothes/boyfriend etc.

You can get St Tropez here or at your local Boots.

Hope you've all had a lovely bank holiday weekend, at least its a four day week for everyone!

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Review

Hey Ladies,

I have recently gone a bit Liz Earle mad, now me & thee are friends I like to call her Lizzy E I think she'll be cool with that. My first product review will be the iconic Cleanse & Polish, I will admit I used this when I was about 15 during my QVC phase & wasn't wowed by it, I used it all up then moved on to something else I don't remember why, perhaps just experimenting with products but ever since starting my blog I've wanted to give it another go.  Luckily the lovely Liz Earle PR (whom are fantastic) sent me some to try out.

I think we all know what it looks like!

They Say:

'Suitable for all skin types, this product will leave your skin feeling healthy and refreshed. Apply it to face and neck and remove it using one of the muslin cloths'

From my initial use of this product I always thought the muslin cloths was what made it so effective so I was interested to see if this was the same this time around.

Design - I think all of the Liz Earle products are nicely designed and have practical packaging, nothing that would win awards but who cares its all about the products! My brother (who's a physicist) did ask why there's a picture of an atom on the packaging, I didn't answer!

Price & Value for Money - It comes in many sizes and shapes but for the standard size in the picture (100mls) it is £11.75 which I think is a reasonable price, certainly one I am happy to pay.

Formulation -  It is a very thick creamy formulation, which i'll admit is a little strange to be applying to your eyes but it doesn't sting your eyes whatsoever,  it is very gentle so brilliant for sensitive skins as long as you don't rub too vigorously with the cloth and although doesn't foam works well with my clarasonic and is very easy to remove without leaving any residue.

Smell - Like all Lizzy E products it has a very herbal smell which I normally hate but this one is quite pleasant as it doesn't smell too strongly just a mild eucalyptus scent, I just pretend i'm in australia handing out with some koala bears!

Overall Thoughts - Nothing but love for Lizzy E now,  after the first use I noticed how soft it made my skin, it removes all traces of my makeup easily and with the cloth it refines the skin slowly and gently meaning it is great for all skin types, if you have oily skin I would recommend using an additional cleanser after the Cleanse & Polish to cleanse your skin to control the oil, I do this a couple of nights a week just to make sure my oil doesn't get too out of control. One negative is you do go through it quickly but at £12 I still find it good value for money as I can use it as a makeup remover and cleanser so brilliant for travelling as well (you can also buy it in a travel bottle which I certainly will)

Trying this cleanser out the second time around I can conclue that the muslin cloth doesn't do all the hard work the cleanser certainly stands up for itself as a fantastic product and one I highly recommend to all my readers and one I will be buying myself when I run out (the ultimate test I think)

You can get it from Liz Earle, QVC & John Lewis
