Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain Review

Hey ladies,

I'm making up for lost time & blogging my bottom off! I've even got a couple of none favourites videos to edit on YouTube. You lucky lucky ducks!! ... Yes I did say ducks not .. Anyway!

Today I thought i'd share with the class my review on a product I've been getting loads of use out of recently.

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Passion.

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains have been out for a few months & whilst I was tempted to get one the shades just didn't appeal to me, I was gifted one after some work I did with John Frieda (will let you know all about it when I can) & realised that all the testers I'd tried we're doing the shades no justice & I realised just how lovely the shade Passion is.

The swatch is a little misleading as it isn't that light on your lips due to your own lip pigmentation but if you build it up it is the most gorgeous bright bubbly pink!

Yes lip stains do feel dry on your lips but once I apply the balm it's fine, I would say avoid using everyday as it won't do your lips much good but for a night out this is a must.

It's a must because seriously it doesn't come off, I have had this stuff on for literally a full day & night & even after full cleansing my lips have still been stained. This is a major positive for me perhaps not to some! I'm lazy & hate reapplying lip stick so these are perfect!

At £7.99 I think they reasonably priced & I will definitely look at some of the other shades, definitely worth a risk if you're lazy like me!!

Let me know if you've tried these or any of the lip stains out that seem to be everywhere! I need more!!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Review

Hey Ladies,

You know I love a foundation so when I have the opportunity to try a new one out I jump at the chance.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation is Bourjois new foundation offering to the market, it claims to;

'Give your skin a radiance boost, made from a vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula for an even complexion and instant anti-fatigue result. It's fresh and instant blending gel texture blends and glides onto the skin for an even, natural finish with no mask effect.'

Firstly I am a massive Bourjois fan especially their foundations so it has a lot to live up to. I find the 16 hour 'radiance-boosting' claims are a little misleading, it implies that the foundation will last for 16 hours which it certainly doesn't & unless you keep your foundation on for 16 hours (which I certainly hope you don't) the 16 hours are irrelevant.

Formulation - This is described as a gel foundation, to me it's a liquid plain & simple but the texture blends & spreads like a dream, completely effortless.

Coverage - It is a medium coverage foundation more on the light side of medium but buildable.

Finish - It does 'boost radiance' & give you a really beautiful look to your skin, not shiny by any means but a natural glow, Bourjois claim semi matte which I can understand them claiming but a glow is more accurate.

Smell - Due to the fruit extracts it does smell fruity & i'm pleased to report it has no added perfume, it's a nice smell & once you've blended it you can't smell anything.

Longevity - Depending on your skin type & if you set it I find it lasts about 8 hours, if you're willing to touch up during the day it could last 10-12. This is my current weekend foundation, it's not quite long lasting enough for work but during the weekend when I can touch up or not be rushing round it's perfect.

Skin Type - It isn't one for oily skins or dry skins, but if you have normal/ normal to dry/ combination I think it will be suitable for you as it moisturises without being oily in formulation.

Price - £10.99 it's a bit more expensive than the normal Healthy Mix foundation but not a bad price for a good foundation.

Overall it is a lovely foundation, quick to blend & widely available, the shade range isn't great & it is a bit more expensive than their other foundations but great to try if you're after a light to medium foundation that gives you a glow.

Hope this was useful to someone, let me know if you've tried it & if anyone would like a comparison between the healthy mix and the healthy mix serum foundations!! just letting you know i've started another blog for the sole purpose of fashion if you want to check it out. All Style. No Substance.

I Heart Nepal

Hey Ladies,

Sometimes we just have to confess the love of something & I'm here today to announce my complete & utter head over heels can't live without it love for Nars Nepal Eyeshadow.

Now this is in no way a new product & I've owned it for sometime but in the 12 months that I had it it was stuck in my Nars Pleasures Of Paris palette. Now this was a perfect palette except I just never used it, it was stuck in one of my makeup drawers & when I pulled it out one day I realised it needed to be re-homed.
I took to twitter & asked if anyone fancied a swap with my palette for the single eyeshadow of Nepal. It was in the palette so win win for them as they got another 5 eyeshadow shades. Thankfully someone (http://missyellieuk.blogspot.com/) heard my calls & agreed to swap with me. I've not looked at another eyeshadow since.

Excuse the terrible swatch. It's the most gorgeous golden peachy pink. Not too frosty just shimmery enough. Perfect.

I love wearing it over my Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Emmerveille which is quite a similar shade as it intensifies it & makes sure it doesn't crease all day. I've been pairing it with my Revlon Carbon Gloss Super Liner (above) or my Illamasqua precision ink in Havoc (the new aubergine shade) which both work perfectly with it.

Super simple look which takes no time at all so an everyday look I like to rock. I'm actually considering a blog sale to get rid of some shadows now I have this in full size in my makeup bag!

Anyone else love Nepal to the extent I do? or another shadow that just is perfect. Let me know!!

Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation Review

Hey ladies,

As you all know by now I love trying new foundations & the new offering from Max Factor I couldn't wait to try when I was offered to test it out.

'Ageless Elixir foundation simultaneously helps to protect against the ageing effects of the sun, keeping skin moisturised and protected to help you look and feel your best.'

First of all the shade (beige 55) is pretty much perfect for my NC25ish skin, I find it practically impossible to match myself in Boots or Superdrug & so was pleased when this was spot on.

Secondly this foundation blends like a dream I'm assuming the serum has something to do with this because it is seriously effortless which makes getting ready in the morning super quick. Major brownie points for that.

In terms of formula it's a little strange, I would class it as a liquid but it's quite a solid mousse like liquid if that makes sense. Oh it doesn't? Well pop into Boots & try it out, you'll know what I mean. This means that with it's handy pump it's not messy in the slightest! Me likes!!

Now this isn't one for oily skin, the serum within the foundation is aimed at ageing skin so moisturises, meaning if you have oily skin I'd avoid it, if you have normal to dry skin it is perfect for the fast approaching winter weather as it is designed to protect your skin against ageing as well as keep it in good condition. Have I seen a difference in my skin since using it? No but I am 24 so the full benefits won't really be apparent to me. My skin didn't react with it which can happen to some when skin care is incorporated into foundations so if Nars Sheer Glow broke you out this could do the same.

It describes itself as a full coverage foundation but take this with a pinch of salt, I'd consider it medium as there are foundations that define the meaning of full coverage (Illamasqua rich liquid I'm looking at you!) This just gives you a nice medium coverage with a velvet finish not quite matte not quite luminous just makes your skin looks lovely.

At £12.99 it is a bit pricey for a high street brand but they all seem to be heading further up the price scale these days so it's not silly expensive. I'd definitely pay for it.

I'm trying to think of any negatives ... I really can't see many. The shade range isn't amazing & matching yourself can be a nightmare & thanks to this countries crappy return policy if you make the wrong choice you're stuck with it.

To sum it up I've worn it everyday since I got it & I have about 20 foundations to pick from. Says it all really!!
