REVIEW: Dr Lewinn's Renunail Nail Strengthner

Monday 14 May 2012

Hey Ladies,

I have tried many nail treatments in the past & most of them were a giant fail whale for me, they promise to strengthen your nails & stop them peeling but mostly they are a glorified base coat. I have had products successfully work on my nails to help them recover after false nail removal but nothing has stopped them peeling … until now (cue dramatic music).

Dr Lewinn's Renunail*, Renunail Sensitive* & Nourishing Oil*
Renunail from Dr Lewinn’s is designed as a post nail extension treatment and whilst I haven’t recently had any falsies on I gave it a whirl as my nails are awful for peeling & as a disclaimer right now I didn’t read the instructions on how to actually use it …

'Apply 2 coats of Renunail onto clean nails and then one coat daily for 5 days. On the 7th day revive and repeat the process three times. Allow your nails to rest for 1-2 weeks between programs.'

Instead of the above, because I wasn’t using it as an intense treatment I used it every time I painted my nails, as a base coat underneath my base coat, it is quite a thin consistency and so dries very quickly, you can also use it over the top of nail polish on the subsequent days after your manicure for a more intense treatment.

Well I can say this right now that it is the best nail treatment I have possibly ever tried, It didn’t take long to work using my method and my nails are stronger than they have ever been not only that they just don’t peel any longer. This is a true feat of greatness as I have only ever found nail treatments to strengthen my nails and then once they reached a certain length they would peel, now no matter how long my nails are they do not peel whatsoever.

Also in conjunction to the treatment I have been using the Nourishing Oil as much as I possibly can, working in an office means I have been able to regularly apply it & not only does this smell great (like Sherbet) it makes your cuticles so soft and protects the skin from snagging (what I call those painful bits of skin)

Together I feel like my nails can take on the world without crumbling to their metaphorical knees!

Cost wise it isn’t the cheapest at £17.50 for 30ml however it will last you a very long time so totally worth it in my opinion, the cuticle oil comes in at £11 and to maintain the results you can use the Sensitive Nude option which doesn't contain toulene and formaldehyde and so if you have sensitive nails a great option costing £12.00.

What are your favourite nail treatments? I’m curious to know whether the ones for brittle nails work & how they work.

  1. Definitely sounds worth trying. My nails are always in horrendous shape because of how much I paint them. xx
