REVIEW: Nicky Clarke DesiRED Hair Dryer

Hey Ladies,

I used to go through a hair dryer a year when i was younger, without fail mine would pack up just in time for my birthday & my dad would always replace it as an extra present. Then one year he did good the Captain (my dad's mokier at work) purchased a hair dryer that lasted and lasted ... 8 years to be precise until disaster struck and it exploded in my hands a few weeks ago, I swear you will have never seen someone throw something so quickly and far as I did I could have challenged for the javelin gold medal.

All I can say is hair dryers have come on in leaps & bounds in the past 8 years (you'd have never guessed) so I thought I would review it's replacement.

"Nicky Clarke's DesiRED range is all about creating fabulous salon styles faster than ever before. This next generation dryer uses the latest in ionic and tourmaline technology to help leave your hair shiny, frizz free and easier to style."

I cannot believe how quickly this dries my hair, it takes 3 minutes total. Root to tip. Back to front. The lot. The last one took 5 minutes just to do the roots!

The hair dryer has a few useful features apart from the drying the hair thing, the cord is super long which is great if your mirror isn't right next to a plug or like me you like to walk about whilst drying your hair with your head upside down. There is also a 'Cool Shot' button (their words not mine) which you should apparently 'seal in' styles in your hair ... personally I use my 'Cool shot' button when I get in from work having walked up the giant hill home & am boiling my clothes get thrown on the floor & I just cool myself down with it. (sorry for the mental image you have in your head right now).

It is also a nice weight, not too light so it feels cheap but not too heavy if you have super thick hair your arm will die whilst blow drying your hair. The price is also pretty good the rrp is around £35 but if you shop around you can find it at great prices, Amazon have it at the moment for £15.99 so a bargain too!

All in all I really recommend this hair dryer it ticks all the boxes, looks good, dries my hair quickly & without frizzing it up, great price and a long cord!

Hope you're having a lovely week!! Aren't 4 day weeks amazing, it's nearly Friday yet feels like a Tuesday!

TRENDS: River Island A/W 2012

Hey Ladies,

I spent some time in London last week & the hours I put in on Oxford Street & Westfields was like a full time job except I didn't earn any money I just spent it ... a LOT of it! One thing that struck me was most of the stores have their Autumn/Winter lines in and most of it involves leather. I have been looking for a new leather jacket for ages and I think I may have found it from River Island. It actually isn't leather but unlike most leather looking jacket it isn't shiny & fake looking, the image I saw it in is amazing too!!

I love the quilting detailing and the gold zip, mine all seem to have silver and I hate wearing it with my Mulberry Taylor handbag which has gold hardware as does my Balenciaga so this is perfect plus the fur collar should make it a bit warmer so I could wear it in Autumn & brave some of the winter with it ... I also love the bag in the images, and the boots!

I've embedded the video for the campaign below so you can see more about the collection, oh & the jacket is available online!

Hope you have all had a lovely bank holiday if you're in the UK or if you are not as fortunate as us in the UK (never thought i'd type that in my life) then I hope your Monday wasn't too painful if it helps I've been sat doing overtime all day because the weather is miserable!

Are you all into this leather trend? I thought it would all be a little too 80's for me but I have to admit the amount of pieces i've tried on with some sort of leather detailing has been increasing!

REVIEW: Kérastase Cristalliste Shampoo

Hey Ladies,

I never seemed to bother spending money on hair care I'm usually more than satisfied with lower end shampoos as I never thought they could make any difference to my hair they just cleansed it ready for the conditioner. I am happy to report I may have now changed my mind.

Kérastase Crustalliste Shampoo *

'Kérastase Cristalliste Baine Fine is a gentle yet effective shampoo that works to trap and dissolve impurities to leave fine hair thoroughly cleansed. The ‘Liquid Light’ complex, smoothes down the hair to leave it looking full of lustre, shiny and positively luminous.'

I actually won this in a Twitter giveaway from Kérastase and even though I had seen it on blogs I don't know if I would have tried it for myself. I cannot describe how much I love this shampoo and how much of a difference it has made to my hair.

As a bit of a background I have long fine hair, I did ombré it a while ago and so it is damaged at the ends but at the roots it gets greasy very quickly, I can wash my hair at night & the next morning I usually require dry shampoo. I basically need to wash my hair every morning to appear groomed which isn't something I want to do as I get up at 6am as it is!

This shampoo manages to give my hair the clean of its life without drying the ends out whatsoever, it contains no silicones so it doesn't weigh fine hair down either but the main difference is my hair doesn't get oily half as quickly when using this shampoo which means I can get away without washing my hair everyday & still looking presentable at work. It also smells great too!

It is prices at £13.90 for 250ml, it lasted me quite a decent amount of time so I would happily buy this & in fact have already, if you shop around it is cheaper as well & you always get free delivery from places like Look Fantastic.

I definitely want to check out the rest of the collection and may have placed an order for another hyped up Kérastase product so watch out for that, have you tried any of the collection??

NOTD: Mavala Jeans for Genes Day Kit

Hey Ladies,

Today I bring you a lovely nail polish which also gives a bit of good karma as it's for charity, so it would be silly not to buy it!
Mavala Jeans for Genes Day Kit*
Mavala have collaborated with the UK charity Jeans for Genes, they hold an annual fundraising campaign Jeans for Genes day where people are encouraged to ditch their suits & skirts & swap them for a pair of jeans.

This collection comprises of Mavala's Super Base, Denim Blue Laquer & Top Coat and is exclusive to BeautyBay for £10.00 (free delivery!) with £1.00 of every set sold going to the charity which helps to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders.
I'm a huge Mavala fan & this nail polish is lovely, a gorgeous royal shimmery blue and with the top coat it has some serious shine, I applied 2 coats and it was completely opaque and lasted on my nails a good 5 days which I always find Mavala polishes to last.

Jeans for Genes day is on the 5th October & this collection will be available to purchase until then from BeautyBay. If you want to get involved you can get a fundrasing pack from here, I certainly am hoping to get my office involved ... just need to buy a new pair of jeans :)
