REVIEW: YSL Rouge Pur Couture Le Orange

Hey Ladies,

Carrying on with the whole orangey red lipstick obsession (I seriously can't stop buying them) together with my Kardashians addiction this purchase was inevitable as it is apparently Kourtney Kardashian's favourite red lipstick.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture - 13 Le Orange

This is an extremely creamy lipstick to the point of being too creamy, this thing will melt if you leave it in any sort of heat so be warned and can get messy if you're not careful (read: This smudged all over my face).

Having said this once you figure it out it is the most amazing orangey red that is almost neon, because it's so creamy and incredibly shiny it isn't the most long lasting, if you use a lip pencil underneath (which I didn't in the pictures) then apply, blot then add another and it will last longer. Be prepared to leave lip prints on every cup or glass you come into contact with, reapplying is easy unlike matte colours because it's incredibly moisturising and none cakey.

Of course it comes in very luxurious packaging which you expect from YSL but it also comes with the YSL price tag of £25.00 (Link) which is very expensive for a lipstick, the colour is wonderful and the texture very moisturising and so a great treat if you love lipsticks.

PLEASE recommend me any orangey red shades you might have seen I think they are my new all time favourite shade (goodbye bright pink!) I'm trying to resist the Tom Ford Wild Ginger (Link), I don't think even I can justify £36.00 on a lipstick.

REVIEW: Caudalie Vinexpert Firming Serum

Hey Ladies,

At the age of 26 I didn't think I needed any sort of firming products in my skincare routine, however after a rather astonishing facial (review to come) I discovered that my face wasn't perhaps the most youthful plump face it could be. Thankfully a product is always around the corner to solve such a catastrophic life crisis.
Caudalie - Vinexpert Firming Serum *
"This oil-free serum deeply restructures the skin so it regains its firmness and elasticity. Skin is visibly younger: the contours are re-sculpted, wrinkles are reduced, skin is redensified. Instant firming effect"
I am never without a serum, although my skin can get oily at times when I don't use one my skin just looks dry and dehydrated, I have been using this for a good two months now and one thing I love is that I can use this both in the morning and at night as it's oil free, which makes sense as it has an instant firming effect upon application so is great for under your makeup.

Longer term I have found my skin is no longer dehydrated and a have a constant 'glow' when I have no makeup on, not in a greasy way just healthy looking plump skin. Being oil free it sinks into my skin instantly without leaving a tacky feeling on the skin and smells like oranges.

I have loved every Caudalie product I have tried so far, they deliver results within a quality formula and the prices are fairly reasonable for the results that are achieved, Caudalie is available from LookFantastic and the serum rrp is £40.

REVIEW: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Carina

Hey Ladies,

I currently have an addiction to lipstick in particular orangy reds (3 have been purchased in the past month) so I thought i'd do some reviews of the formula as they're all pretty different. First up Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Carina

These were recommended to me by the lovely Farrah (someone who shares my love of dogs & chocolate) and I have to say she is totally on the money.

These lipsticks are crazily pigmented and one quick swipe is all you need, overloading your lips is a mistake you'll make at some point when trying a liquid lipstick in particular the matte ones and when you do it not only looks terrible, it feels awful like your lips are dying on your face.

When applied correctly you are left with the most intense featherweight matte lipstick which is very long lasting, does it last all day? My findings: it depends;

If you don't eat or drink much during the day it lasts perfectly but if you are partial to food (ie me) they last fine but you will need to touch it up around the inside of the lip (putting a lip pencil on before does help with the appearance between topping up).

Of course the more neutral shades you're likely to get away with a bit of wearing off compared to the bold shades, to me these are perfect for a night at a cocktail bar (straws even with Martini's girls), for a night out in clubs I can get a bit lipstick happy and end up reapplying even when it isn't needed with my drunk eyesight (one eye squinted, anyone else do this when they're slightly intoxicated?) so it could get messy and extremely cakey.

They are rrp £15.00 (currently £11.25 for most shades on www.escentual.com).

Price - 4/5 definitely not the most expensive in the market and perform a hell of a lot better than any I've tried so I will buy more shades (may have just purchased 5).
Lasting Power - 4/5 don't last all day as they claim but I'm definitely an eater, if you're careful these will see you through 5 or so hours of an occasional beverage.
Quality - 5/5 the texture is extremely light on your lips with one coat, the applicator is a nice shape making it easy to apply directly to your lips, I think they're a far superior quality than ones I've tried that are £25!
Smell - 5/5 these babies smell like caramel enough said.

18/20 - A definite recommendation to anyone who dislikes reapplying lipstick and wants to cut back on eating so much (they definitely stop me snacking so much at the office).

Have you tried any liquid lipsticks, which is your favourite?

Spring Nail Polish Picks

Hey Ladies,

I thought i'd pick my favourite nail polish colours that scream of Spring and although I don't usually stick to seasonally appropriate colours I know some people do. If my cuticles look a little sore on some of the pictures it is because they were, I suffered for this post.
Essie - Bikini So Teeny, Essie - Lilacism, OPI - Lucky Lucky Lavender,
OPI - Done out In Deco, Bourjois - BcBeige, Orly - Cashmere Cardigan,
Orly- Lolipop, Mavala - Aquamarine, Essie - Fiji.

Essie - Bikini So Teeny - £7.99
Initially I really disliked this polish on myself but I slowly started to appreciate the shade, it is a cool light periwinkle blue with silver shimmer running through it which no doubt would look stunning with a bit of a spring tan.

Essie - Lilacism - £7.99
I love a bit of lilac on my nails in the spring (hence there being three in this post) this pick is the most true lilac of the trio very cool in tone and just the perfect light lilac shade for spring.

OPI - Lucky Lucky Lavender - £6.99
This is a very pink toned lilac shade which goes on like a dream, perfect for a pretty outfit & bare legs if you dare.

OPI - Done out in Deco - Various - eBay
Possibly my favourite lilac shade in my whole collection and it is my 'go to' (ugh hate that phrase) shade for when I can't decide what shade to paint my nails, it is a very toned down grey toned lilac. Unfortunately it has been discontinued & is going for large amounts on eBay so I will now be substituting it as my 'go to' and saving it for best. Perfect shade, application and wear.

Bourjous - BeBeige - £5.99
This is a lovely creamy beige shade and I thought it would be a bitch to apply but surprisingly opaque in two coats and a great shade for when you don't have time to worry about your nail polish clashing with your outfits.

Orly - Cashmere Cardigan - £5.63
This is a true periwinkle blue which is the perfect balance between blue and purple. I couldn't miss this out of my spring picks because it's the one shade I truly am seasonally appropriate with.

Orly - Cotton Candy - £8.15
A light baby pink had to be included in a spring polish post and Cotton Candy is a beautiful pastel pink like the colour of carnations and applies beautifully, it is possibly the only light pink I tend to wear as it's so easy to apply (unlike other light pinks) and wears like a dream.

Mavala - Aquamarine - £4.00
I did a post about my favourite minty green polishes (Link) and this is a beautiful one for spring as it is a true pastel mint green with a gorgeous golden shimmer running through it.

Essie - Fiji - £7.99
This is a pink toned white polish, absolutely stunning in spring summer with a tan and the polish I get asked the most about when I wear it from strangers. With the new brushes which we have been fortunate to be handed in the UK this applies very easily but with the old brush I know it is a little challenging to get even.

Like I said I'd happily wear most of these in the depths of winter as I'm not really seasonally appropriate with my nail polish. I will be doing a summer nail picks so let me know if you would like it in blog or video form & also you HAVE to let me know your favourite spring nail polishes.
