REVIEW: Umberto Giannini Big Hair Range

Umberto Giannini Big Hair Range*
I rarely try an entire hair line, I like to mix and match to get my desired results from my products from different brands and different ranges.

The Big Hair range from Umberto Giannini is a great collection if you're looking for volume but don't want to spend a fortune.

Volume Shampoo & Conditioner for Big Hair £5.29 each (Link) & (Link)
The foundation of 'Big Hair' has to come from the shampoo and conditioner you use, I wouldn't recommend these for everyday use because they can be a little drying which is perfect for volume in hair but not great for the condition. Definite night out shampoo & conditioner combo.

Volume Mousse for Big Hair £5.49 (Link)
If you want some volume in your roots get this in there; mousse's seem a little old school (think add mousse and scrunch for 80's 'curls') but they have come on leaps and bounds, it's lightweight (providing you don't overdo it) and it adds masses of texture and volume to your roots.

Old School Setting Lotion for Big Hair £5.49 (Link)
If you're wanting to curl your hair and add body this is fantastic, it helps to keep the curl in a long time (which for me is unheard of) and does add an extra boost of body.

Root Boost Volume Spray for Big Hair £5.49 (Link)
These volume and texture sprays are huge in the blogging community and the thought of spending £30 on one doesn't appeal to me so being able to pick one up for under £6 in Boots is a great option and this is great, I spray it into my roots and a little in the ends and this stuff gives me some serious bed head which is usually quite difficult with my hair being so long.

This is a great hair care range for those on a budget and is very often on 3 for 2 promotion at Boots which makes it even better value, my top picks have to be the Volume Mousse and Volume Spray which are both great for every day use whereas the others may be ones for night out hair so ones to have in the cabinet for those occasions (very few and far between at my house)

What are your volume product holy grails?

  1. Oooohhhh I WISH I could get this in NZ. I remember all the UK bloggers going gaga for the Backcomb in a Bottle a few years ago.

  2. I love the packaging - always been a fan. I struggled with Backcomb in a Bottle, but have high hopes for this range. :)
