Last Minute Gift: The Perfume - Gucci Bamboo

You know the drill, last minute Christmas invite and you need to make a trolley dash round a shopping centre finding gifts you didn't think you needed to buy. When this catastrophe happens to me (every year) I always head to The Perfume Shop.

I personally never buy a new fragrance for myself unless it's my 'signature scent' and always wait for someone to get me one as a gift so it's always the first thing I think of as a last minute option.

My top fragrance choice this year is from Gucci and it's their new release; Bamboo, I think is a scent you'd be hard pressed to find anybody that it offended. It's a lovely mix of floral with a warm sandalwood base, it's not sickly sweet so you don't feel like a teen, it's not too floral so you feel a granny and it's not too spicy and warm that you feel masculine wearing it, all in all I think it's the perfect fragrance gift as it will suit so many people and all ages.

This set has a 50ml Eau de Parfum and 100ml Body Lotion for £68.00 (Link) and The Perfume Shop (Link) has 99p Next Day Delivery so there's still time to do your shopping if you don't fancy my trolley dash approach.

REVIEW: Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age

If you're after a 100% natural organic facial serum this isn't the one for you, this is a fantastically high tech modern skin care wonder that i've had the pleasure of trying out ... and using every single drop.

Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age serum is a concentrated serum choka-block with five forms of hyaluronic acid complexes which rehydrate both on and below the skin surface, improve the texture and elasticity of your complexion and visibly plump the skin. In addition to the hyaluronic acid the serum contains peptides that results in reducing the look of lines and wrinkles and promotes better visual results than Retinol without the irritation common with Retinol products.

If you're looking for an effective serum that doesn't cost the earth then look no further, I loved using this serum as it does exactly what it is meant to: Hydrate, it absorbs immediately so perfect under your makeup during the day and at night really intensifies every step in your skin care applied on top.

All these benefits at a fantastic price of £30.00 and because it is stocked by Boots on offer a lot, it is currently available for £20.00 (Link) I thoroughly recommend it for every skin type as it will make such a difference to your complexion and believe me you'll thank me for it.

Have you tried any products by Hylamide? I really want to try more: i'm very intrigued by their Boosters and their Photography Foundation (Link) and they are releasing some blurring products and a cleanser so I can imagine you'll see more of the brand featuring soon.

GIFT IDEA: Ole Henriksen Little Wonders + Cleanse

I thought i'd post some gift ideas rather than gift guides this year and I wanted to start with this fantastic little taster of Ole Henriksen's skin care: The Little Wonders + Cleanse set.

The kit contains:

  • African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser - Don't be put off by the word 'Foaming' as the foaming action comes from the pump and not the cleansers formulation. This is a lovely cleanser with a citrus scent and makes the skin feel so soft.
  • Truth Serum Collagen Booster - A potent serum which corrects dark spots and dullness and I have to say is my new favourite serum plus it smells INCREDIBLE.
  • Invigorating Night Treatment - A resurfacing gel which refines lines, smooths skin and improve dark spots on the skin as well as reducing redness and calming the skin.
  • Sheer Transformation - An oil free moisturiser designed to correct dark spots, freckles and sun damage which protects skin from free radicals.
This is a great gift as it would suit the majority of skin types and the sizes of the products give you a really good feel of the product as they last a few weeks of constant use so ideal for someone who hasn't tried the brand before.

All I can say is I hadn't tried Ole Henriksen before I got this kit and now I HAVE to purchase the full sizes of the cleanser, serum and night treatment as they are fantastic. (I haven't had chance to try the moisturiser yet) so expect full reviews of them.

You can purchase the Little Wonders + Cleanse kit from Escentual (Link) for £18.00 (currently on offer) ... I would totally self gift if you love skincare because I am seriously impressed with the products.
