Jimmy Choo Fragrance Review & Bargain Price.

Thursday 3 February 2011

Hey Ladies,

On my recent trip to the Trafford Centre with Gemma, Kelly & Laura, there was an army of perfume girls outside Selfridges promoting the new Jimmy Choo fragrance, of course we had a spritz.

I think we all immediately fell for it, only Laura made the purchase but we all wanted it, as soon as I left the Trafford Centre I regretted not buying it, as it was an ‘exclusive’ to Selfridges Oxford Street, Manchester & to Harrods. It was a case of I want it & can’t get it therefore I NEED IT!
Although it was ‘exclusive’ you could get it online I later discovered so off to Harrods online I popped & ordered it, I then got the dreaded sorry its actually out of stock email, I sulked quite badly & then remembered I was off to London at the weekend.

Due to the antics of myself & Gemma we never ended up near Selfridges or Harrods & I am glad I showed some patience because now it’s no longer exclusive & you can get it cheaper on a website which I will discuss after my review.

Lets get to the important bit … The smell
They say:

‘Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum expresses an aura of strength and beauty. Glamorous in attitude, confident, intelligent and with a sense of fashion and fun, the fragrance is a modern Fruity Chypre with warm, rich, woody depths. It’s a fragrance inspired by modern women – strong, empowered, beautiful, seductive and alluring with a hidden and mysterious sense of confident sexuality.'

Now how a perfume can come across as having ‘a sense of fashion & fun’ I don’t know. What I can say is that once it settles it is such a sexy smell, I think we all drowned ourselves in the stuff & I could have happily carried on as it wasn’t too much. It was developed by the perfumer Olivier Polge who happens to have developed a couple of my favourite fragrances the Balenciaga perfume & Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb which if I apply too much of it knocks me sick its so strong. The Jimmy Choo perfume is just sensual & effortlessly sexy. The bottle is nice I guess, it’s understated & being of a pink hue it's feminine, they could have gone a bit wild but kept it restrained which I like, it will sit effortlessly on a dressing table.

The top notes are pear nectar & Italian sweet orange, it then develops into a fruity oriental orchid smell, once its settled you can smell the Indonesian patchouli, caramel and a woody musk. It’s a very well developed smell and very interesting, all the elements blend together & don’t clash at all. May I also say that this stuff lasts & lasts, I could smell it on Gemma’s coat a week after she sprayed it on herself.

Now for the price... I was shocked at the price to be honest I expected fortunes & I was rewarded with a reasonably priced perfume.

The Eau de parfum is RRP –
40ml - £39
60ml - £40
100ml - £68
I think these prices are more than reasonable for Eau De Parfum.

I was having a browse on Feel Uniqe at work (naughty me) & saw the bottles for the prices below!
40ml - £33.15
60ml - £41.65
100ml - £57.80

I think you’ll agree this is bargainlicious, plus it’s free delivery. I am not being compensated or wasn't even approached to tell you about the offer but I couldn’t exactly keep it to myself. I will be buying a bottle when I get home this evening & I'm quite happy to pay those prices.

Overall I think you can tell I love it, I totally recommend it as it is a beautiful fragrance, not too sweet or young, just sophisticated & sexy which surely all women would like to be seen as / smelt as. Buying fragrance online is difficult so I always suggest going into a shop which sells it & trying it on yourself, I have loads of perfumes that smell gorgeous but as soon as they are on me they just don’t suit me. Although if you order it online & don’t like it I’ll totally buy your bottle off you!

I hope you're all having a lovely week, I really am not but I will be home this weekend which means I will be 100% happier, I should have the time to do some videos so get your requests in!!
