#AD Godiva Salted Caramel Billionaires Brownies

Sunday 17 November 2019

Tell me there is nothing better than a cup of coffee and a brownie? Now add some salted caramel and some Godiva chocolate and I can tell you know you won't be able to resist.

I have made these special brownies when visiting family and friends and they never last long, they are rich, decedent and unbelievably moreish.

Godiva Salted Caramel Billionaires Brownies
Serves 12
Ingredients:

Brownies
185g - Unsalted Butter
185g - Godiva 72% Belgian Dark Chocolate
85g - Plain Flour
40g - Cocoa Powder
100g - Godiva Belgian Milk Chocolate chopped
3 - Large Eggs
275g - Golden Caster Sugar

Caramel
200 g Unsalted Butter
3 tbsp Caster Sugar
4 tbsp Golden Syrup
397 g Condensed Milk (one tin)
1 pinch of Salt.

Topping
250g Godiva Belgian Milk Chocolate
12 x Godiva Hazelnut Oysters

Method

For the Brownies:
  • Combine the butter and dark chocolate in a bowl and melt in the microwave or over a pan of simmering water on the stove. Leave to cool to room temperature.
  • In a separate bowl whisk the eggs and sugar until pale and doubled in size, pour over the cooled chocolate mixture and fold together, this needs to be done gently so the air isn't knocked out of the eggs.
  • Sift the flour and cocoa powder into the bowl and fold in gently.
  • Finally stir in the chopped milk chocolate.
  • Bake in a 20cm lined square tin in a 180°c oven on the middle shelf for 25 minutes, unlike regular brownies you want these totally cooked so they can hold the caramel.
For the Caramel:
  • Add all the ingredients into a large saucepan on a medium heat until the Sugar has dissolved.
  • Once dissolved, turn the heat up and let the mixture reach its boiling point, cook at this temperature for around 5 minuted stirring constantly so it doesn't catch.
  • When it is has darkened and thickens it is ready, add a pinch of sea salt and mix in.
  • Once the brownies are completely cool pour the caramel on top and leave to set.
For the Topping:
  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave and pour over the brownies.
  • Push the Godiva Hazelnut Oysters into the chocolate and leave to set.
  • Remove from Brownie tin and cut into 12 pieces using a hot knife.
Voila, good luck giving these away because i guarantee you will want to keep them all to yourself.
