What is it?: An overnight hydrating mask.
Suitable For: Normal, Dehydrated, Dry Complexions.
Price: £44 for 50mls (Link)
Key Ingredients:

  • Electrolytes - Maintain balance of hydration.
  • Vitamin F - Microbeads dissolve on the skin improving texture and strengthening acid mantle.
  • Niacinamide - Brightening, repairs the skin barrier and skin firming.
  • Ceramide - Strengthens the skin barrier by filling the spaces in-between cells.

Thoughts:
I love an overnight mask and although some might see it as an unnecessary step, I like to think of it as a sealant, if you apply layers of hydration in your routine and seal it in with a product that hydrates and prevents moisture loss overnight you will wake up with the most hydrated skin you could wish for.

You know from Drunk Elephant's reputation and ethos the F-Balm contains quality ingredients without added silicones, fragrance etc this actually smells like tuti fruity so I don't know how they managed that but you know you're in good hands. This formula repairs and maintains a healthy skin barrier, this is crucial for the health of the skin. If your barrier is compromised it is open to increased damage from UV rays, pollution and bacteria so could result in increased breakouts and pigmentation.

The texture of this mask is incredibly light and is cooling upon application, it is gel cream that turns into  a watery consistency upon contact with the skin and doesn't leave a sticky layer so won't ruin your pillows overnight. I use this both as an overnight mask and traditional mask after cleansing, there aren't any ingredients that would indicate it isn't suitable for this purpose and it works wonderfully for a quick dose of hydration before you apply makeup.

The results are bright, plump and hydrated skin, texture is improved and everything looks fresher. I will 100% repurchase, I think it is well priced, I love the results and fits into my routine seamlessly, this was my first Drunk Elephant purchase and it definitely won't be my a last; within the box you receive a sample size of the TLC Framboos Serum which is a glycolic exfoliating serum, this combo is a match made in heaven and has gone on my to-buy list along side the C-Tango eye cream and Protini moisturiser.
