New In Beauty

Wednesday 7 October 2015

Apologies for the recent silence round these parts but if you follow my twitter (Link) you'll know a motorcyclist rode into my car last week and wrote it off (this is my way of saying it wasn't my fault) which has caused no end of headaches.

For all the insurance emails I've been receiving they seem to be matched with new releases to the beauty world so I thought I'd round up all my future purchases for you.

1. Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau De Parfum £49.00 (Link)
I've never found a Marc Jacobs scent I was in love with before because they're all a bit young and sweet for me but when I read the notes of this fragrance were plum, saffron, jasmine, amber and papyrus woods I knew once I had a whiff that would all change. I haven't managed to get myself to a counter to smell it (the lack of car does limit me to home and work) but I can see this being a birthday treat to myself for sure. So if you're one for more spicy strong perfumes this could be the one for you and can we take a second to appreciate the bottle ... stunning.

2. Sunday Riley Blue Moon Tranquility Cleansing Balm £46.00 (Link)
Cleansing Balm ... check, me: 'ok I NEED it' this applies to pretty much every newly released cleansing balm and oil to hit the market. Following on from Sunday Riley's Luna oil success they're introduced the blue tansy to another product in their range and I can see myself loving this. I really need to review the Luna Oil as i've used it for a couple of months now and I think a review of this will be quick to follow.

3. Clinique Smart Treatment Oil £36.00 (Link)
I keep saying to myself I can't purchase another facial oil without finishing one first, the problem with that is they take so long to finish as you hardly use any. It never actually stops me from making the purchase of course as I can always justify it. I was really impressed with Clinique's Smart Serum so I definitely want to try the oil from the range which is supposed to repair the moisture barrier and considering the colder months approaching surely a necessity yes?

4. Soap & Glory One Heck of A Blot Primer £10.00 (Link)
I haven't managed to find a good primer for oily skin from an affordable brand so far but i've heard great things about Soap & Glory's new offering and definitely intrigued by their 'Shine Bloc' technology so this is definitely on my 'to buy list' when I can get to a Boots store.

5. Bourjois Air Mat Foundation £9.99 (Link)
Again as above finding an affordable foundation offering good coverage, oil control and a lightweight non-cakey finish pretty is much akin to searching for a mermaid riding a unicorn. Bourjois' new foundation could be answering all my prayers, the quality of their foundations are top notch and in my opinion better than a lot of foundations that cost three times the price. I hope I can find a colour match on my upcoming wonderful Boots trip which might see me bankrupt by the time I leave.

6. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation £29.00 (Link)
This isn't one for the oilier skin makeup wearers I think, although I don't know if it's very new I've just suddenly been bombarded with the hype for this product and yes I'm a total sucker who now needs to own it. I've actually never tried any Too Faced products before but hopefully it will be a good introduction but like all good things I must wait to get this as I'll need a trip to Manchester to get colour matched as there's no counters near me. If you want a radiant finish, medium coverage, hydrating formula, lightweight undetectable finish this is the foundation for you.

7. Bumble & Bumble Don't Blow It £23.00 (Link)
I love Bumble and Bumble especially their hair masks but I've never really used their styling range because I never really do anything to my hair, I have naturally frizz-free poker straight hair so I can just leave it to dry and it's fine and B&B have released a product designed for gals like me. A quick scrunch with it is supposed to leave your hair in a dishevelled wave or you can use it before putting your hair in a bun and when you take it out you have lovely waves or just left to dry naturally fly-a-ways are tamed and your hair is gorgeously soft and lightweight.

Which new releases do you have your eyes on? Thanks for all the kind messages after my crash I can't describe how terrifying it was and how much pain I still am in and as a person who doesn't enjoy baths how frustrating it is that everyone recommends it for my sore shoulders and back!
