HOW TO: Brow Lamination

Friday, 8 November 2019

I have seen these lash lift kits floating about Instagram & hoped nobody ordered them because perming/LVL'ing your lashes could cause a whole world of issues if you don't know what you're doing. I discovered these kits are also used to Laminate Eyebrows which is a process of restructuring the brow hairs to the desired shape. Basically, my dream come true, although my brows have improved over the years they still needed help, brow lamination shapes the brows so they are fluffy and full and at the same time helps to fill in gaps because you essentially put the brow hairs where you want them.

When I posted this to Instagram I couldn't believe how many views it got or how many messages I received so I thought I'd do a step by step on how laminate your brows yourself because a. the instructions on the box are awful and b. people seemed quite apprehensive about doing it themselves.

You Will Need:
Lash Lift Kit / Eyebrow laminating kit (Link)
Clingfilm
Eyebrow Spooly

Optional
Brow Tint

Step 1
Cleanse your brows making sure they are makeup-free.

Step 2
Using the provided glue apply to the brows and brush with spooly into the desired shape.

Step 3
Apply the perm lotion to the brows, brush to shape and cover with clingfilm, leave on for 10 - 12 minutes, halfway through remove the clingfilm, rebrush and reapply clingfilm

Step 4
Remove perm lotion with the provided tool, apply the fixer lotion and repeat the above brush, clingfilm routine about again for 10 - 12 minutes.

Step 5 (Optional)
If tinting the brows remove the perm lotion with the cleanser and apply tint until desired colour and remove.

Once the brows have been done do not get them in contact with water or products for 24 hours and brush them into shape when you notice they have moved.

A couple of things to note, firstly this completely changes the bonds in the hair so be prepared to wake up with the wildest brows imaginable, you need to brush them to get them back into shape, because perming isn't the best for the hair you will notice your brows feel coarse and not in their best condition. Always do a patch test to make sure this will not cause an allergic reaction and just remember this lasts up to 6 weeks so don't spiral if you don't like the results.

I love my results, this treatment paired with an eyebrow growth product would take it to the next level, the revitabrow is amazing, I'd love to see what the combination looks like.
